What was your first digital camera?

Nikon Coolpix 5000 back in about mid 2002, 5mp with 3x optical zoom and a 256mb CF card. I even bought the 3x multiplier for it a couple of years later. Cost a ridiculous amount of money but when I look at the photos from it, they still blow away most point and shoots today. One of the firmware updates even added RAW capability to it.

Panasonic DMC-LC20 - 2 megapixels. Noisy as hell, but hardcore at the time. :p

Had a Mustek (not the SA version, the Taiwan version) 0.5mp point and shoot with a 1" LCD screen. Was in the big leagues with that one. It had about 5 sec shutter lag and took around 15-20sec to recharge the flash..

:D

I bought a Samsung digital camera while in the USA, in 2002 - I think it was their first attempt at a digital camera. What a rubbish camera, the battery would only last for 3 pictures before dying.
How camera's have changed in the space of 9 years !!!!!! I have a Canon 7D now, light years ahead !!!

Maybe it's time for a what is your current camera thread? :)

I since forgot the brand name, but it was Korean/Taiwanese brand. One of my then colleagues was in the importing business (as a side job) and I bought it from him.
It could have been a Samsung/anything really, this was back in 2001.

Nikon E700

1999

Click for camera original. Metadata is stuffed - is was in fact taken in March 2000 :)

So I moved house last week and discovered my very first digital camera - an Olympus D360 which I think I got in 1998 :/ I'm tempted to take a few shots with it and see how it looks 13 years later ....

Just wondering if you guys remember (or have!) your first cameras still?

Sony DSC-F707 ... 5 MP. I bought it in 2002 for my wife ... cost R18k :wtf:

My first Digitial Camera was a Pentax Optio E10 6MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom after my film cameras.

I had a discussion with my dad just earlier today, about how when digital cameras first came out, professional photographers argued film cameras will never completely die out...

I can't remember the exact details on it, but it was a Chronos digital camera that I bought from Gazaz way back when.

They might not completely die out. I remember them saying digital cameras would never be good enough as a substitute.
