Fry in a hot pan and then oven. Forgot to preheat.

Post the recipe for the pork. It's in my list. I'm going to end up buying a dimple thermometer. That shoulder needs to be made.

The pork is very simple. I'm putting it in the slow cooker with a spice rub and bay leaf and chicken stock. When it's done I'll pull it and fry it to get the crispy bits in. Then I'll make enchiladas.

I don't have one of them contraptions. I may need to take a closer look at them.

Yea they're tremendously useful and light on electricity. They just don't do well at browning meat and caramelizing vegetables so you need to use other preparations for that. Mainly they're good for softening the food, you set it in the morning and come back to something that's 90% done.

Have a slow cooker sitting in the box for almost a year now. Would appreciate any recipes you guys can send me to try out. The one above looks great.

That should get you started. The beef broccoli tonight was delicious, I left it in for over 4 hours and it just melted. Plus having separate cooking times for the broccoli kept it tasting crunchy. The carnitas can be turned into a whole range of possibilities like mind blowing enchiladas.
