How close is yours to tasting like Nandos? I've made a peri peri chicken once or twice but it wasn't amazing.

I use the nandos original rub, its pretty good and nothing as oily as the chicken you buy in their stores. My family can't eat hot food so I have to settle for the lemon and herb or the garlic and herb.

And you also use the sauce? Do you do it in the oven or on a fire?

Made 2 beef burgers with lettuce and chilli sauce. Woolies thick cut burgers.. Was so tasty. Slab of cadburys caramello for dessert.

Apparently it's called Mandi. Basically boiled (I assume) lamb and rice.

Lemme guess. Everyone scoops out a portion for themselves with their bare hands.

Nachos with mango pico de gallo and an ocean of sour cream...:D

Tandoori Chicken take-away from a new Eastern Cuisine (Chinese, Indian and Turkish) restaurant. I am almost 60% through their menu.

I feel like driving back and getting another piece. (It's only 4 minutes away)

Their prices are cheap. R35 for this.

I already ate some before I took a pic.

Don't let the appearance of this chips fool you. Those chips are better than any other place I've been to.

The purply stuff are red cabbage.

The day before yesterday I had this Chinese chicken, noodle and fried rice ... also for R35. That Styrofoam container could barely close.

The restaurant on the inside looks really beautiful. I estimate that they spent at least a car's price on the tiling and décor in this place, if not more. Everything screams Indian ... in a beautiful way.

Made a dinner for the extended family, 13 in total.
Starters: bouchee a la reine. A shortcrust cup with chicken breast and chicken livers in a creme fraiche wine sauce topped with a pastry star.
Ratatouille pie with caramelised onion tomato jam base and layers of vegetables.
Main: beef borguignon with gnocchi. Took me 2 days, 2 bottles wine and a cup of brandy to make that stew. I think one of the nicest things I ever made. I also made my first beef stock from marrow bones.
I tried to get some pics but they weren't very good as it was a hectic rush

Sounds awesome. If you still have some of the beef stock, use it to make a bordelaise sauce, it'll blow you away.

My camera takes k@ka pics as well, this is the only shot I got from the dinner last night:

Sous vide rack of lamb
Mash
Mint and mushroom gravy
