Now that the dust has settled...

I cannot reproduce the problem to take pics etc.

I haven't reset anything either.

I really think that the issue happened when I had an external drive plugged in doing time machine backup and the machine was in sleep mode.

Excellent news; hope it stays that way.

Can't say for sure that the issue is related to your external drive; I use many external drives and personally never encountered this.

Almost perfect, as in perfect family you would say it actually never happened. [-]droid[/-] got completely exhausted, started to experience voodo nightmares. Now it goes back to normal.
