Hi guys,
First off: This is not about their network issues!

So I currently have Axxess Express + Uncapped 384 and I am curious to see if it is worth swapping to Digichilli.

Uncapped for R300 is much more appealing than R1k but is it worth saving that money?

I won a mild account via the twitter thing but gave it to 2 of my friends as I was going away and leaving my downloads on and did not want to risk it bombing out and me not d/ling.

I was with both these friends on holiday for the last 3 weeks and even though they left downloads on, they still had hassles.

1)The account was suspended for 3 days due to "abuse" and them saying we are "cheating" by downloading 300GB in 10 days. Which is only 15GB a day because there are 2 concurrent connections.Meaning there ARE thresholds.

2)The guy who I spoke to was speaking to me as if I was a thief who was guilty and when I got home today I found emails from them saying "I HAVE TO CONTACT THEM" & "WHY ARE YOU AVOIDING US" etc.

Then I called them up to inquire the different products and I was told completely different info to what is on their site. The R300 is minimum speed 56k(dial-up) and NOT 256k. The R500 has a minimum speed of 256k SHARED so each connection only has 128k.And I guess the R1k is the same.

Plus I am confused about this burstable thing. By more people signing up, is this going to cause LESS bursting? meaning by February everyone is running bare minimums, or is there a guaranteed amount of time per month of bursting?

And is it possible to get a 'business' account so it is bursted to max during work hours?

Please anyone answer my questions.
Thanks

Hi all

My account was just unblocked. I think they may have made a mistake with me, not sure about the others that's still banned.

Thanks DC

Maybe its a gud thing...was going in for a record 155 pages :)

I will stick with Axxess for now...
Hopefully Web Africa are gonna bring out the new prices soon.
Thanks guys

Actually 15 gig a DAY IS the problem here. Goes beyond what even 2x256kb-512kb constant is capable of meaning the users were hitting 4mb speeds on a 256k package. See the issue?

Though yes I do realise the real blame still lies with DC for not appropriately limiting said speeds on all users.

Oh and 50gigs and going strong on DC here. (But at legitimate 32kB speeds and via HTTP that is)

You are right Basjohn, I actually emailed Dave now to ask him for more information on what I did wrong cause I also just pull http and updates with the odd mail in between.

Am sorted now, got a new username and password. Spoke to Dave, apparently getflash and IDM, mask the download as HTTP (which it is), but their shaper does shape, but the downloadmanager opens multiple connections maxing out the line.

OK, so now what? can flashget and IDM still be used on the network?
