Whats up with Digichilli?

This is their reply when I asked for a query:

With regards to the uncapped account, it takes 7 to 10 working days to migrate the line from Telkom to us.

I suggest signing up on the 1st of next month as you will be liable for the R499 and there are only a few days left for this month.
Alternatively you can signup now, send through the proof of payment for Jan and advise that the account must be active from the 1st. We will then supply you with the username and password and the account will be set to activate at 1 min pass midnight on the 1st of Jan.

Didn't Screamer only start offering their uncapped (BCSNet) offering a week before DC? And to be fair, I believe they had issues in their first 2 weeks. But they sorted it out, and they do not shape. So I am failing to understand why DC still hasn't sorted out their issues, and why they are shaping.

Screamer had an existing infrastructure so they had some advantages. They have sorted most of their problems out by all accounts. Except, they still don't have dynamic IP's, but are working to have that sorted soon.

As for SAOL, absolutely brilliant. I have no complaints, rather enjoy my uncapped. Done 62gb's since 11 Dec. Very very happy.

As for Digichilli, I personally think they have done more harm than good. They have been shocking and some of the actions over the month and a bit since they arrived on the scene is rather unacceptable. Plus any respectable organisation to be taken seriously would have had these problems sorted by now. I also believe that the reasons the are banning people and using shapers is because they simply don't have enough bandwidth available to feed all their customers.

I haven't tried them, but apparently they are the Durban division of Cybersmart, who have a good reputation

Well at the moment Im stuck with DC, everyone joined DC when they heard of it...That may be why they are struggling at the moment.

Too much to chew on for the time being I guess.

Http stuff seems to be working like a dream atm....

I am quite possibly getting off local sources through Akamai though...

Hahahaha why did the mods close the other thread?

Because someone kept feeding the trolls.

@ TB: I'm getting 38KBps on an intl torrent (yes, only one).
Busy doing a Windows update and (yes, local) getting 40KBps on it... so no complaints here about speed.
It's only intl ftp that remains my greatest concern.

Just tested Skype .. Audio streaming is grate :)

even Youtube vids max my line out :D

So now it is just FTP for me

Did I miss anything? was it that bad that the thread had to be closed?

One of the messages on the DC website said last nights maintenance was going to be the BIG one...looks like they got things right, haven't seen any complaints lately :)

Ok, so this is the new thread, but then how are we going to get updates from Dave?

Im also at work...but the last i saw i had downloaded was 50mb from yesterday.

Thats 50mb total from 17:00 yesterday untill this morning 7:30.

Maybe a reset of your router when you get home will do the trick?
