Whatsapp backup on Iphone WITHOUT Icloud, possible?

so I wanted to confirm my suspicions here,

Whatsapp on IOS, ONLY allows one to backup their chats and restore them with icloud, correct?
if Icloud is turned off and disabled, your sh*t out of luck, correct? no way to transfer whatsapps without Icloud,?

you can transfer the number, and rejoin all the groups you had previously, but everything is cleared, WITHOUT ICLOUD.
also if icloud is disabled and turned off, you cant just transfer everything to another Iphone, even with an itunes backup?

I just want to understand this as#f*ckerery that is Apple,

I can just see the knowledgeable Apple users falling over each other to try and help you... not.

Just use WhatsApp on your well loved Android, you only use the iPhone you are forced to by your company as a hotspot if I recall some of your posts, keep doing that rather.

When you turn the new phone on, there’s a helpful manual.
You can just clone the previous phone.

You can export, I’m not sure if WhatsApp will import it back.
 
Backup to Google Drive?
It may need to be installed for that to be an option.

As stated when moving to a new phone from an old one. Chats are moved without iCloud locally using WiFi

No, you can make a manual backup in iTunes if you are still a cave man without clouds.
