I tried to get friends to use it, but no go.Yes, yes - Telegram looks great. But it's no use to me if my friends and family don't also use it. Therefore I don't even bother having it installed.
Whatsapp (Android) also enables you to change your number.Exactly that. It's a somewhat frustrating situation, you simply use what most people use, not what you like best. And WhatsApp is actually really good, but the fun new thing is going to have a hard time moving people to their platform because most people don't care about this. Still, worth trying.
The thing I found most interesting is that Telegram can update your phone number on your contacts' phones when you change your number and they won't even notice (assuming the other person(s) gave the app permissions). No Send to All number updates required, so it becomes easier to change numbers rather than port between networks.
I'm on iOS so the web feature, something which excited me from Telegram, is now a jab in the side suggesting I'm still using a Blackberry. Oh wait, even Blackberry is supported...
Might be rolling out in batches, I also don't have the option on Windows Phone, app updated earlier today and other users are reporting that they have the option
This is the third thread on the same topic
Reinstall worked for me as well
only issue with this is I know several people who would want to access whatsapp through their webbrowser when their phone is out of juice or can't connect to a cell tower / wifi for internet, but they have a physical internet connection. So basically useless to 80% of the people looking for a solution like that and useful for the other 10% who wants to chat to ppl during working without looking like they're busy on their phone all the time...
Does anybody else have the issue where the little animated diagram blocks the camera on Whatsapp? And therefore I can't scan the QR code.
All i had to do was restart the phone, and the web option appeared.
