WhatsApp from your PC

I can't find the WhatsApp Web option either in my app. The Play Store has no pending updates for my apps. God damnit I really want this.

You don't have to use Chrome btw. Opera works just fine.

Might be rolling out in batches, I also don't have the option on Windows Phone, app updated earlier today and other users are reporting that they have the option

Meanwhile, telegram for WhatsApp: You're only around as long as you've got your millions of users.

Yes, yes - Telegram looks great. But it's no use to me if my friends and family don't also use it. Therefore I don't even bother having it installed.

According to the Play store on my phone I am on the version that supports WhatsApp Web. No option in the menu though... so I think it's both a version thing and your account has to be "upgraded" or something.

Either that or WhatsApp think we have no PCs in Africa. :)

If you can't get the update, go to Whatsapp in your Play Store under My Apps and you should see the Open button change to Update

I forced install of whatsapp again from play store.
Then app reloadded and "Whatsapp web" menu item wasnt there. Waited like 1 minute or so, and it appeared.

Works great!!

I don't see anything like this at all. I see no such option in the app's store listing nor any such option in the My Apps screen.

Exactly that. It's a somewhat frustrating situation, you simply use what most people use, not what you like best. And WhatsApp is actually really good, but the fun new thing is going to have a hard time moving people to their platform because most people don't care about this. Still, worth trying.

The thing I found most interesting is that Telegram can update your phone number on your contacts' phones when you change your number and they won't even notice (assuming the other person(s) gave the app permissions). No Send to All number updates required, so it becomes easier to change numbers rather than port between networks.

I'm on iOS so the web feature, something which excited me from Telegram, is now a jab in the side suggesting I'm still using a Blackberry. Oh wait, even Blackberry is supported...

That's odd. I went to my Play Store and under my installed apps, tapped on Whatsapp and the green button that usually opens the app changed to Update. Perhaps it takes a while for the update to push through to all the phones around the world with Whatsapp installed?

My green button thing just says 'installed'.

The option appeared in my WhatsApp menu without needing to update or reinstall. Try clearing your cache and closing the app.
