Whatsapp issue with backing up

I've been having a lot of problems with WhatsApp lately. Messages not downloading, backups failing. K@k piece of software.
 
I completely agree with you.
A backup especially to Google drive should be simple. And a local one should be even easier.
If you don't watch the program I guarantee whenn you need a backup it won't be there.

Huh, well what do you know.

Encountered the issue the other day and thought it was just me.

Was trying to backup to GDrive as I wanted to factory reset my phone.

6GB backup never got beyond 25%. Seemed like it was really struggling to upload but that is never the case on my 50/50 Fibre line.

Don't waste your time with factory reset it doesn't make a difference. Whatsapp is just ****

Was factory resetting the phone for another reason.

Was just hoping WhatsApp would do a seemless restore from GDrive once I was done.

Guess I will be doing it the (good old) manual way.
 
Approximately 48 hours to backup 9 gigs.
What a **** show and I basically deleted tons of chats.
Everything else is strictly work.
Thus program seems to be living in the dark ages.
 
It's got to do with "End-to-end encrypted backup" being enabled. I've got the same problem on a Galaxy S21 Ultra. Whatsapp backups to Google drive used to fly (I'm only backing up about 500Mb), but ever since I enabled encrypted backups it takes about an hour to upload 500Mb to Google drive.

My end to end isn't enabled so it's not that
 
@marine1 why the fok is it so enormous?

TF are you doing on WhatsApp dude, are you excluding media from the backup.

Geen wonder jy sukkel so nie.
 
Hi guys, no its nothing porn related at all, its site groups for work, so there are a lot of photos on there for evidence of issues etc etc. I have approximately 20 of these groups
