Oh yes they do.

Off my head, here are a few public ones:

Intelligence Services Act, Act 65 of 2002
National Strategic Intelligence Act, Act 39 of 1994
Intelligence Services Oversight Act, Act 40 of 1994

And yes, they are public ones. There are a few that are being guarded from the public for safety and security purposes as well.

I know for a fact that they have a blanket court order, one that was issued back in the old regime, and still being used today, for their operation in Pretoria. This includes the recording and monitoring of all telephone communications.

They do not need to apply for a court order every time they want to tap into a call.

Does any one for a moment think all the telecommunications company's would give any one cart b lance to intercept any communications on their networks if they don't have to. :erm:

There are 'blanket' court orders in place, have been like that in the Old South Africa when they already done mass phone recordings. The very same court order issued decades ago by a judge is actually still being used today, in the New South Africa.

Behind that Court Order is an act that authorized a judge to issue such order compelling these companies to comply. In fact, they will never have received licenses to operate if they could not provide those services to intelligence agencies.

Lol, you obviously do not know much, do you?

Besides for that, I obtained court orders for surveillance which lasted for much, much longer than 3 months. If you think there are time limits on court orders, especially when it comes to investigation of crimes or even state security, you really do not know much!
 
And again nobody here wants to comment on grabbers being used by anyone that can afford one . Keep living under a rock and believe that everything is above board. Of it makes you sleep better so be it

For some time I told the folks here, but they believe that government is above board and not monitoring their calls. They believe that their data and conversations are safe in the hands of telecoms providers and it will not be shared with others. Well, like you said, it probably makes them sleep better at night.

I suggest you read the RICA act and if you think the communications company's will flout that you are crazy.
Like i said before you think you know, you know shyt.

You may know pre 94 but you are definitely not current .
