I've learned in Cape Town if you don't stop dead, hand brake up and engine off, you get a R1500 fine. So I stop DEAD now...
You could try and be more aware of your surroundings. Look for blue light and cameras. And unmarked Corrolas, IS 200t's, GTIs and R's.

I do stop momentarily...sometimes I leave the car rolling a little. I've received a R1k fine before for doing this.

No, I don't shoot past even if there are no cars around. If you do it often enough, you get used to it and next...wham!

Some stops should definitely be yields.

One of those close to our house got camped by law enforcement as a way to generate money for a few years and they caught me as well.
3 months after I paid my fine they finally added a yield sign. This was a few years ago now.

Can't remember when I got my last fine.. probably 4 years ago.
I still drive with an expired license though for 6 months or so.
Ain't nobody got time to stand in a 50+ man queue.

My licence expired in 2018. Not been a problem when stopped by SAPS, Metro and Ghost Squad. Awaiting the outcome of the court case...

Depends on the situation, the full K53 thing... no. but otherwise yes I normally do - but at night, and with no other vehicles around I tend to slow down to a crawl, but if it is clear I will go.

They're only confusing because the authorities here have muddied the waters by having two different types with different sets of rules for each of them.

Oh, and you all cannot drive.
I'm tired of having people nearly drive into me when I go before them at mini circles because I arrived at the circle first.

No Karen, just because the circle was empty does not mean you can just drive into it.

What if you kill or maim someone in an accident?

I treat stops in low traffic areas like a super slow. Slow all the way down and go forward slowly. If there's a car, I stop which usually means I'm over the line but that's usually because the front of my car is 6KM in front of me.

I said "some of the time" because I usually just yield unless there are cars waiting.

Prefer to stop properly mostly, 'cos it's the other drivers you have to watch out for..

I have replied to this thread in my mind so many times.

Answers may vary depending subjects my mind come up with.

Then we need you to put display boards in your car to tell us what frame of mind you're in, ta.

Nah by going from the title alone we can predict the following:

When do you stop:

1. When I'm done eating
2. When the load has been offloaded
3. Until she says stop
4. When the account gets banned
5. When people learn to use a/an correctly
6. When I use an ellipse
...

When I'm certain that the idiot behind has seen me stopping and isn't going to plow into my bumper. Had to keep going a few times else I would have gotten rear ended.

Lol, they got me this morning, N7 merge before Bosmansdam. Merged early and crossed the painted median. All I could do was laugh when the officer approached. I wasn't a d00s and he was jovial, got a R500 iso the full R2k.
