Good Day MYBB's

As per thread title. I need to purchase a cheap run around vehicle, budget is R90K MAX. I have been searching for the pass few weeks and managed to come up with the following:

1. Light on Fuel
2. Reliable or cheap to fix i.e service cost.
3. Small and under 90K Km.
4. Will be doing short trips of roughly 8 Km a day.
5. Above 2013 Model

I have came across the Chev Spark, Ford Figo, Hyundai i10 and Datsun Go.
Out of those, the Datsun has the lowest mileage and the seems to be the option to take, but the downfall is the lack of ABS, it does come with a Drivers airbag though. Relaiability I am not to sure about as well.

Would like thoughts on the above...

TIA

Can also torture yourself with a Toyota Etios in that price range.. just go make sure its not falling apart

The ones I saw all had mileage of above 120K.

Why the need to buy at 90k when you will almost certainly have to fork out for a massive cam belt service at the next interval.

120k would be the sweet spot I reckon and in the rant of 90-120k what’s the difference really?

Same goes for the insistence of 2013. Why not a 2012 with higher mileage or even a granny’s car with no mileage.

In terms of reliability. Also less chance of someone who would've not been looking after the car.

Almost fits your requirements. I'd definitely go for this over a 1.0 and compromise a little on age and mileage

I'm personally not a huge Spark fan but it's alright :). Seems like a good deal

Me either, but it's basically a run around. I do have a main car for longer drives, also want to teach my mom to drive on it and become independent.

A run around is the car you're most likely to spend a lot of time in... I'd want to enjoy it by getting a decent one

I would defiantly go for the previous generation Ford Figo, check cars.co.za also add Nissan Micra into your list.

It seems you have issues with mileage I would also recommend Honda Jazz, Mazda 2 and previous generation Hyundai i20.

If you need something newer and you are willing to take a risk, look at Mitsubishi Mirage you will defiantly get it with low kilometres.
