Hi guys. I hope you guys can help me. Or just maybe give me some kind of a idea to my choice easier.

I'm due for a upgrade and can choose practilcally any phone I like. The problem is, this is the first time I don't have a clue what to take.

Any ideas??

Your input is much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Absolutely NOT NOT NOT in any way a Motorola ..unless you're gifting one to someone you want to drive into a gibbering wreck, in which case it'd be your first choice!

I'm currently playing with a V547 (thankfully not permanently) and it's diabolocal - there's NO mention of erasing a message (SMS, MMS, whatever) from the inbox ..even in the manual! Actually it was entirely by accident that I stumbled across how to do so ..AND it takes FOUR keystrokes to remove a message, FFS! And as for the cramp- and spasm inducing fits that trying to send a text message causes, the less said the better! ...I can't believe that they can still make hardware THIS bad in today's market.

I'd have to agree with that, had one Motorola and never again! Go for Sony Ericsson, heard the P990i's really good.

p990i has a few issues still, and it's interface isn't the friendliest. The nokia n70 is good, or the w8xxi series if you want an SE.

Had no problems with my W800i, maybe wait for the W850i, not sure when its being released though..

At the moment I have the following phones:
i-Mate Jasjar
SE W810i
SE P900i
Nokia 6630
Nokia 6131

So I really don't know what to go for.

N80
N91
N93 (when it becomes available)
HTC TyTN (when it becomes available)
i-Mate K-Jam

Maybe look into the Nokia E70 too, i love the keyboard and i'm actually now writing more SMSs than ever .

I have a decent Ipod Video and a decent Digital Camera so the main features of the phone doesn't have to be a mp3 player or a camera.
then i'd say go for the N80 or the E70 like diabolus mentioned ;)

in fact, go for anything with Symbian :p

N80 ftw! If you can wait for the N95 then that would be the best choice (HSDPA!!). But for now the N80 owns the rest when it comes to the range of features.

I see nobody's mentioned the N73 yet? Any particular reason why? It's comparable (or better) than the N80 in many ways except it doesn't have Wifi. So why not the N73?

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but I'm looking at the E70 or the SE P990. I like the practicality of the E70 keyboard, but not the looks.

Anyone have experience with the SE P990 keyboard? I handled a dummy model in the local MTN shop, and the keys are way too small for my large fingers. Should you use the stylus instead? How convenient is it for text entry compared to the E70?

I'm going to be replying to emails and editing documents on the phone.

Judging from this thread, it seems as though you can't force UMTS in order to use 3G on the N73, you have to run it in Dual Mode and let the phone decide when to switch between 3G and GPRS (not to mention dropping the connection each time it switches).

Pretty dumb if you ask me that a R4000 phone doesn't have the ability to do this.
