Which Desktop Environment to choose?

Plasma 5 if its not going to hit performance else I prefer cinnamon which is less intense.

Have seen many posts, all just confusing me even more :wtf:
So which Desktop Environment do I choose?

1. Unity
2. Gnome
3. Mate
4. Cinnamon
5. KDE

Current flavors of Linux are Ubuntu or Mint.

Which do you use & why?
Would like to weigh up the pro's & cons before installing.

I use Unity on both work and personal laptop's. My colleague prefers Kubuntu. This is what makes Linux nice is all the options available for you to chose from.
