i've been using 07 for quite a while now and have got comfortable with. well except for excel which for me is still a pain! i do big extracts at work and usually use excel to view the extracts (as big as 900 000 fields sometime). i find the 07 excel takes forever to open such a file while the previous one 2003 takes long but is still quicker than 07

just an observation. i hope the next installment of office is better.

Office 2007 here. Going back to any other version has now become a pain almost, I find I get lost in those cluttered menus.

I mostly use OOo 3. I just can't get away from excel (07). Sheet is just that: sheet.

How does it compare to '07?

Looks pretty...
They've adjusted the orb menu, now an extra tab of the main menu but it goes to a full screen options page.
The usual little improvements here and there, like paste allows you to keep source formatting / strip formatting / merge with current formatting.
Outlook now has the ribbon menu system and it's very easy to customise quick actions, so it's awesome to use.

been on 07 for a few years. didn't like it then, still find it irritating.
but that's a debate for another time.
hopefully office 10 will sort some of the ui inconsistencies out.
of particular issue is the disparity of word vs excel's treatment of multiple windows in win 7, and visio's office '03 style gui.

most large companies i know are still on xp with office 03.
seven years later...
