Which online multiplayer game?

Which online multiplayer game is everyone playing these days? I can't find a definitive list of south african game servers with stats to give me an idea. There are 2 days left of the steam sales and I can't decide what to buy, already own Ark but that seems to be dying a slow death, I have no interest in CS:GO, I am keen for Battlefield 1 but will obviously be waiting for local servers. Any other suggestions welcome!
 
Quakelive is cheap at around R40

but its a bit difficult to start playing a game that everyone else has been playing for 10 plus years and the community is shrinking
 
I was in the same spot as you a few weeks ago, what to play.

Over the years done a bit of this and a bit of that from BF2, EVE Online, Guild Wars, ARMA 3 and GTA. I picked up CS GO probably at the the beginning of the year tried it out a few times and was like this is *** I want my BF back. The last couple weeks my mates got me to give CS GO a shot again and with proper mates around me with coms I am really really enjoying it.

Now I`m not saying I`m totally converted but for the price and the lack of decent sized communities in SA for other games maybe give it a try until the next big thing comes around. For R106.53 you wont really be hurting the bank, but anyway just thought I would add my 2c ;)

I bought it, will see how things go, I haven't played a decent online fps since BF3, BF4 was meh.
 
Keep in mind, CS:GO is also very difficult to play. The is the beauty of it though. The more you play, the better you become. I jammed 50 hours with bots only, just to get in the swing of things. Once I started playing DM the game became interesting. Once I played my first Comp I was hooked.

BF4 seems to still have a few busy servers, but has definitely go e quieter than it was last year this time.
 
I played on a server which was headshots only, that was frustratingly interesting to say the least, many many deaths!

If you guys have any recommended servers please let me know.

What is arms race?

A game mode, where you are given a new weapon after each kill.

Arms Race is more commonly known as gun game.

For every two kills you move to a new weapon, meaning you are forced to use all the weapon so you will learn them very quickly.
