Which Tablet should I choose

I agree with going with the Transformer :D However, it does not have 3G afaik.

I read some review that said a 3G one will be available by mid-year. The Transformer looks AWESOME and is way cheaper than the Xoom.

Only catch is how long till Transformer gets 3.1, Xoom got it yesterday.... will see how long Asus takes before releasing update.

Saw the samsung 10 for 229 and the flyer for 299 on MTN in the paper today (Jhb if that makes a diff). Would recommend the Samsung...

Got myself one of those really cheap little china jobs and must say it was perfect for when I was running around abroad. Now that Im back I dont think Ive used it for much else then as a comic book reader :/

That is why I rather get something like the Eee Pad, as I use my Netbook at night esp in winter when parking in bed watching the TV. The keyboard/touchpad + Included Office makes a huge difference and when I need a tablet/reader I will just unclip it.

That way I dont just have a tablet but also a light weight netbook/laptop in one device.

Well yah use it to read comics and watch movies in bed its a nice little one has usb port and what not. Just needed one for a month to test if I really needed and it came in handy when I was away.

Was thinking of getting the Asus Eslate EP121, has a wacom made screen and an i5 in it. Rather beasty for a 12" tablet. Perfect for design and pitching!

anyone got any idea when the xoom is going to be available in south africa? iv looked at the galaxy tab 10.1 but the only draw back with that tablet is there is no sd slot so your stuck with the 16gb or 32gb

Yup got the Flytouch3, Totally worth it. Froyo, 3G via usb, hdmi out, love it. All for <$200. Bought it to keep me busy until i bought a "proper" tablet, but cant see any reason for buying a name brand atm.

Hey Daveogg, how did you find the screen - i see these are resistance touch screens, not capacitive. Any concerns?

Just looking for something around the house - mainly for my wife to use facebook and read books - but also great to take while travelling for the kids to watch movies.

Screen is fine. have a look at www.apad.tv for some video and forums etc.

I suspect that the Dell Inspiron Duo has 3G. I like the concept of one gadget that does both jobs, but it might be too pricey though.

jealous

Did you buy from a local importer? Or asus reseller? Or self import?

please tell us where you got it from and how much did you pay...i would love to get one as well (just a pity about the USB :-( )

Yup. only gripe is the usb ports. But at that price there isn't much room for complaints.

Oh and the ipad is just an overgrown iphone.

Ooooh noo, Im leaving for states in 3 days and I still cannot decide which tablet to buy! So far Om still Xooming in on the Motorola Xoom because:

SD card slot
Android OS
Now available with USB connectivity through a cable connector
MUST 3G
Flash now available on Honeycomb

At least I hope I'm right, not tech smart enough!
