Which TV

So "I went to the mall" today. Game does not sell the STR-500's anymore as they are being discontinued. The guy couldnt tell me which model is replacing it. I saw the 6.2 channel Sony's, goes for around 6.5k.
Then the Sony shop with the following home theatre systems:
STR-KS470 for R6199
MG-DDW5000 for R6999
MG-DDW7600 for R7999
BDV-E970W for R8999
The Sony shop had some STR-500's which go for R5500, but for R600 more I get the better model? (STR-KS470)
I was eyeing the MG-DDW5000 and MG-DDW7600, but maby there is something else I should look at for these prices?

Eyeing the Jamo S506 HCS3 aswell now (R6800 at Dion Wired) with a 'certain' receiver....
 
Hi guys, just an update on my system at the end:
-Samsung PS50c450
-Jamo S506 speakers
-Pioneer VSX 520 (newer model of the 519)
-DStv HD-PVR2
-PS3 with grand turismo 5 (an my momo steering wheel :D)
Cant get enough of this system, there is not enough hours in the day. I have to admit I am not convinced I shouldnt have taken the c550, but the c450 is awesome none the less.

Big thanks to the mybroadband guys who helped me.

In the same situation as you at the moment, deciding on the following:

Samsung LCD LA46C550
Samsung LED UA46C5000
Samsung Plamsa PS50C550

Until I saw this thread and saw guys recommending the c450 for much cheaper. Not very knowledgeable on TV's and the only difference I can see the the allshare which I think is a nice to have but for the price difference can be replaced by some sort of media player. Why do feel you should have taken the c550?

It's full HD. Some people need full HD, most of the time it's not entirely necessary.

Depends what you need your TV for?

Ahh ok I see the 450 is not full HD.

HD Movies, PS3/XBOX/Wii Gaming and SD Series pretty much sums up what I want the TV for. Leaning towards the LED simply coz I've done no research as yet. Any recommendations from the experts are more than welcome.

I LOLed! Yip, marketing sells doesn't it? ;)

PS50C450 sounds like it'll be perfect for you. Unless you have the money to buy the PS50C550, then go for that. Will future proof you somewhat, although 720p vs 1080p is quite overrated.

That's odd. When I spoke to the hirschs sale rep on the phone I mAde doubly sure by repeating the model code and also repeating the full hd to me and he replied affirmatively that the ps50c550 was on special for 9499

Should have taken names.
