Which will you wait for: iPhone or Tube

The way i see it, none of the OEM boys will be able to rival the iPhone's OS using what they got. The speed, stability, the speed ( yes i know i said that already ) the response and the flexibility. Until we see devices running Android there is no challenge for the Champ.

ps .. I still have a the old school 6110 which i use as my backup, this phone has to go down in the hall of fame ... These things are pretty close to bullet proof.

It is not hard to be speedy if you offer so little on such a low resolution screen. Apple has always been lightweight in the OS department. Sure, look good, feel nice, but their usability is limited. The Nokia 5800 (and it's upmarket brother) will run on Symbian - the most advanced OS in the world.

I also think that it will be no challenge for S60 to look better and feel snappier than crapOS.

My advice to you - buy the iPhone - then cry when tube comes along.

That is a BOLD statement ...
i dont consider 480x320 with 163 ppi to be low res at all ..
Anyway, we will have to wait and see if it can live up to its claims when it surfaces

Will these nokias have the proper Glass touchscreen that dont use any "pen" and have multitouch. If it does, i'll take one!

Bhah ! Just shows you how blind people become when they get iFruity. The Iphone packs 153,600 pixels into a 3.5" screen. The 5800 (which will have a upmarket counterpart) packs 230,4000 pixels onto a 3.2" screen !

Apple products will always be associated with something people buys to show how much money that can throw at something that is technically inferior to cheaper and higher quality products.

Why did you think I quoted your message when I said proof please ? It is because I want you to provide the proof that "Nokia copied Apple" or in other words "Nokia copied the worlds number one copier of ideas and then denier thereof".

Chill guys ... everyone has an opinion, and I am sure there is a lot of "borrowing" in most industries ...

All cars are the same ... 4 wheels, seats, etc ... but you dont hear anyone maoning ... :)

True - just because Chrysler was the first to use the current pedal layout back in the 50's does not mean every one else copied them. It just happened to work better that way.

Also, Xerox developed the GUI back in the 70's - but computers was not their big game. Apple and Microsoft realized in the 80's they need a more user friendly UI and both of them learned from Xerox. Just funny to see which one it more popular today :p

Bud dont get excited.
Bigger is not always better. besides i thought we where talking about what is considered low resolution.

about Apple products ... ... i cant believe you threw that out there. Have you used a MAC?
Please tell me what is cheaper and better?

I use a MacBook and i dig it cos it is a complete package. it has everything you need straight out of the box. And they dont break, have you seen a broken MAC, and these boys stand behind their products. fit and replace, no messing around.

Bigger is not always better ? Funny how the apple fanbois change there tune now that you get things like the HTC Touch Pro and the XPERIA and 5800 will be here soon. Before those the apple fanbois made sure we understood that bigger is better. My, how the mighty have fallen...

I have never had to use any apple product. I believe in open standards and want a bigger choice. After all, I did pass 5th grade so I know a thing or two about real computers.

You fanbois go and have fun burning lots of money on those fashion accessories that masquerade as something useful.

What are you talking about ???????? You clearly have no idea.
You cant knock something you havent tried, but thats just me. this thread is going nowhere fast. i am out.

Peace Love and Hairgrease. Keep it Real.

WoW ! and if the 5800 manages to kick the iPhones ass just think what the higher-end model will do.

P.S. Rendier - why so quiet now? Or did a little something called cold hard facts give you a cold shower ? :p Ag it is so cute - Fruity Fanbois are so temperamental, reminds me of my wife.

About similarities between the iPhone and Tube:

THANKS :-) Guess your going to try and defend this one to right :-)

Dare I say "I TOLD YOU SO"

and regarding your post above...

Nope... just over arguing with you. Apple has the largest market share with regards to the music industry via ipod etc. They are also taking the cell market by storm so I really couldn't care less with what you say. You are a Nokia Fanboy... well done. Now let's see what happens when Apple has the same amount of years in the cell business as Nokia... GOODBYE NOKIA.

The fact remains that the iPhone was Apple's first attempt at the cell market and they completely destroyed any other phone at that time.

Not bad for a first attempt... now wait and see what they do in 3 to 4 years down the line.

You can go on about specs etc but it means nothing if the phone doesn't sell. The iPhone has outsold it's competitors throughout the lifespan of its existence and will keep on doing so.

You can call it what you will but Apple makes fantastic products that attracts the next generation... stable, consistent and looking at the future. You on the other hand are stuck in the NOW time frame so enjoy it.

I will end this by saying that the iPhone will KILL anything that Nokia makes in the next year...according to sales.

If you can prove that Nokia sells more of a product than the Iphone once released at the same time, and as a competitor product like the Tube then I will close my account. Can you put your account on the line? LOL... don't think so.

You can go on and on and on about which is better but at the end of the day it comes down to sales... and sorry to say this but Nokia will lose a HUGE CHUNK of the cell market in SA to the iPhone.

Deal with it and build a bridge. Your continues threads about the iPhone being crap actually just shows that it's getting to you. Millions of people agree with Apple and here you are saying it's crap... what makes you so special that you should tell all the ppl out there that it's crap? Have you ever even had one? If not then I think you are a hypocrite for ripping on something you haven't owned before.

Now I leave this space open for you to analyze my post step by step and make comments on how wrong I am... you are the typical Nokia fanboy... have answers for everything and have this snobbish attitude... well done old timer.

Oh and before I forget... a little prezzie for you :-)

Of course you can. I have never had 4n@l s3x with a prison inmate and I am sure as hell not going to say anything good about it.

Apple is overpriced and overhyped. In the case of the iPhone it is also weak against the competition (and competition to be) and that is what this thread is about.

BTW - in the light of the imminent XPERIA - check out this baby : http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_touch_h..._wvga_screen_5_mp_camera_and_all-news-588.php now that has apple crush written all over it.

If Nokia has the balls to admit who they are competing with - good for them. If other manufacturers make similar phones and do not say who they are aiming at - thats just as fine.

I am not a Nokia fanboi - I am quality phone fanboi. There are a lot of phones out there from other makers that I look at and thing, damn, that is nice, they are bringing something new to the arena. That is good for competition and innovation.

On the other side you have this white-holier-than-thou phone sitting on the sideline THINKING it is amazing and better than the rest just because it has a pretty face. Well, thats what you get when you are the only child (wheres the other models Apple?) and your parents are snobby (American) elitist with a chip on their shoulder.

To me it is priceless that every touchscreen (personally I like to call them MUI or Monkey UI) coming onto the market from different makers all manage to kick the iFruits ass.

But - you will always get stupid people. Most people on Apples home continent are substandard IQ citizens and they love their Apples. Here in SA we also have a lot of those types and for them the iPhone will appeal most. In the end they are only going to make calls on it (as in I Phone) and look at it and think - wow - that looks nice. That the iPhone can do.

There will be those that need more than a flashy-fruit-cocktail to make them smile and they will have a wide variety to chose from. Just look at the new stuff we see coming from HTC/SE/Nokia and you will see that the bar has yet again been raised beyond tutti-frutti standard.

:D Oh - nice job with the photo - let me guess, you needed a powerful mac to add the text onto it?
