Also received some old samples from an old family friend a year or so ago.
Chivas and Irish Mist whisky liqueur, along with some old bottles of red wine.

You're post reminded me about them, stuck in the back of the liquor cabinet. Never got around to try and check how old they really are...

My dad had a blue Royal Salute in a velvet bag when I was a teen. He said that I could get it when I was 21. Then he went and gave it to someone as a gift. I'll never forget that :(

I also did that recently...it has saved my life a few times since.
I realized today why this tot measure is a good idea. I measured out a single shot to pour over ice as I enjoy my bourbons these days. I poired the whisky into the glass and it looked really little. So I figured "how much do I usually pour then?"

So I measured another shot. And then another. And then half more. Then I reached the level I always poured. So between 3 and 4 shots. Explains why the bourbon is going like lightning out of the pantry lately.

Oops.

That's am impressive bunch. Favourite from the range?

Sadly only started collecting whisky a month ago so a lot of the Ardbeg special releases are a bit out of my reach now. Eyeing that Blaaack and Kelpie but I'm not sure the Kelpie Committee is worth 5.5k.
No, the committee prices are crazy and not really worth it. I had the standard Kelpie a few years ago and unfortunately drank it all as if it was a standard release I could just replace...:crying:

Current favorite Standard is the Uige and favorite Special is the Blaaack of which I was extremely lucky to get hold of 2 bottles.
