Keen hear how the Glen Scotia 15 is. Was also keen to try the Loch Lomond Single malt but couldn't find stock.

I was at three different Liquor shop stores and they didn't have the Loch Lomond Single malt. I'll keep u updated on the Glen Scotia, did u open your double cask?

The whisky that made compass box (in)famous. First time trying it. Very mellow and enjoyable.

John Glaser does like to court controversy. Did u hear about about their 'this is not a luxury Whisky' issue where they stated the recipe for the blend?

I did read up on that. I think he has a valid point. Considering what we're expected to pay for whisky.

I agree especially considering the amount NAS bottlings hitting the market right now. I put my name down on their transparency campaign.

I tried a Danish one once. It was nearly black in colour, absolutely terrible.

The Swedes make a really nice peat whisky, a friend's contribution to a whisky tasting at home.

Lovely Peaty smell but very light peat on the finish. Very nice.

Hey, I got a bottle of that today as well, my second. Gotta agree with u there.

Opened this now. Still deciding on it, not easy drinking but a nice winter whisky that warms u up, must be the PX sherry. Reminds me of the Three Skip PX Cask.

Bought one as well yesterday. Alot sweeter than I expected, but still enjoyed it.
Also bought some Ballentines and Loch Lomond Reserve.

I did try it at the whisky live last year, was not particularly impressed but then I can't trust my judgement at these events. I tried the no.39 when it was available, that was really good but I couldn't get another bottle so I bought 2 just in case. If I still don't like it then I've got a present for someone and an open bottle to offer up at a home tasting.

Personally I will have a tot with a meal. It is just too sweet for me to have more.

I'm considering going on Saturday the 4th. I've been to the jhb one and I'll usually hang out at the stand where u find all the independent bottlings.
