Here's a nice local write-up in regards to the Loch Lomond and Glen Scotria at Checkers Liquorshop:

Seems like the LL Signature is a good buy for the price!

This is quite interesting when talking about the LL single grain...

A Single Malt that is classified as a Single Grain thanks to SWA regulations (Basically LL use a Coffey – a.k.a. continuous – still to produce the malt whisky, but SWA regulations states it must be batch distilled in pot stills to be called a Single Malt). Quite a contentious issue, but I won’t get into that here.

The gem is the Monkey Shoulder at R299: R100 cheaper than anywhere else right now!

That is good price. What's the rewards on Smart Shopper when you buy whisky, that might maker it worth it depending on reward level.

And what's it like compared to Bains? I've got a bottle of Greenore 8 which is quite different to Bains. Depends on the grain used I guess.

I find Bains gets a bit sweet. This was similar but not as sweet.

I was at the Wade Bales event last night,i had such a blast. Going back tonight, the 'under the counter' stuff is not to be missed, hopefully I can get some Yamazaki 21 tonight.
Had a bit of this last night, definitely the highlight of my night

It's didn't taste like 7 year old and I wouldn't have guessed the alcohol content. Felt like 40% alcohol. More peaty and sweeter than the Uigedail, hopefully I can afford a bottle if it gets released.
