When I read reviews of the Jack Daniels Single Barrel, they mentioned that the best thing abt the whiskey is the bottle it comes in. The label can be removed and the bottle would make an excellent decanter.

Can anyone comment on Teacher Highland Cream?

I'm in Zambia and it's by far the cheapest whisky in Pick n Pay. Like R145 a bottle whereas the next cheapest is the no name stuff like C&J at R200 :wtf:

I'm going to buy some obviously, just wondering if anyone drinks it regular or has a comment on it?
So how was the Teachers?

Erm, when I went back they magically had 3 Ships 5 year old for the same price so I bought that instead because I really enjoy it
You should get a bottle and try it. If you dont like it its not that much money. I must say I enjoy it so much that it might become a problem

Haha, looks like im missing out. Yeah, next bottle I buy is Teachers

Cracked open the three ships 10. Light peat on the nose and palette. Really enjoying it.

I only had that sample at your place so hard to say. But I think I like this more.

I can taste the similarity between the two but after drinking quite a bit of the px cask I feel like the new Three ships is missing something. No doubt the new 10 year old is an excellent whisky, I'm just expecting to find that extra flavour.

Just bought a bottle of 10 year Talisker (Isle of skye). But more expensive than I usually buy but why not. Sadly won't get a chance to try it until next weekend :/

I am flying to the Oktoberfest on Tuesday. I drank some beers yesterday as practise.

Anybody tried the Auchentoshan 12 Year Old single malt and or the Glenbrynth Bourbon oak casks?

The Auchentoshan 12 is very nice, easy drinking and nice subtle flavours. Bear in mind that Auchentoshan is triple distilled so it's a bit lighter in flavour compared to standard scotch whisky. Skip on the Glenbryth, you better off with the Three Ships Bourbon Cask.

Thanks very much. Think I will skip the Glenbrynth and rather get the Auchentoshan and a bottle of the old Black Bottle.

Tell me what u think of the Auchy, my opinion is that triple distilled whisky is a bit muted in flavours.
