I see Boplaas (Calistdorp) are now producing a Whisky. Anyone tried it?
I saw it at the bottle shop at Mariners Wharf Hout Bay. Owner said she heard it wasn't bad???

New additions to the collection :)

That Nadurra is very good. The Nikka is awesome but you need to add quite a bit of water in to open it up, Its very strong.

I've had it. It's been finished in brandy barrels so it's a bit of an odd combination of flavours. Worth trying but not mind blowing.

Shew trying not to sound too much like a purist but, have you tried those with less ice? If its too cold you actually start loosing the flavours.

I've been trying to have only 1 or 2 block of ice in mine lately - although there is a school of thought that ice actually detracts because of the huge temp difference and its better to use room temp water.

Whisky stones are there for a reason. Use them.

Haven't actually ever considered them but will see where i can pick them up

They're great. Shop specials or gift boxes, you often get them for free. I got a set of 12 for free, but only 8 or 9 remain. For some reason they got lost during the move :(

Anyway, they're great for just lowering the temp of a room-temperature whisky without watering it down. I use them if I want the whisky slightly cooler but not as cold as to use a frozen glass.
