Got a cheeky unexpected business class upgrade on an Emirates flight that I’m on just now. Had a Jura Superstition, a Chivas 18 and am currently on a Glenfiddich 15. Still got 3 hours 40 until landing :p

Sláinte.
And if there's something that really tickles your fancy then you might find it in duty-free on the way out of the airport.

Picked up a travel exclusive at Cape Town on on the way out....

Scratch that, mine is 40% as well. I'm not sure how I messed that up but I was looking at a few different Laphroaig's so I must have confused myself :p

I'm probably in the minority but this is my least favorite of the Laphroigs. That's not to mean it's not a good whisky, it's very drinkable.

Love the Jura range...

Having a bit of this tonight, love it. Macallan continues to win me over with better and better drams

You should try the 12 year old double cask if you like a more Sherry-influenced whisky. The double cask is similar to the old 12 year old before they launched the NAS 1824 series.

Bottega has got stock of some of the Game of Thrones bottlings.

Also, the Glenfarclas 105, 1L for R740. Glenfiddich Fire and Cane as well if anyone if looking for the fourth experimental edition.

My sister brought me the Oban Bay Reserve (Night's Watch) from NZ. She paid about the same price as Bottega.

Bottleshop has it for R7,999 lol, no idea what they're smoking...

Interesting read, I've been guiltly of doing this as well.

Same logic applies to most things.

I have actually been toying with this lately I have started looking at brandy and SA has awesome ones but I see R200-R400 as "cheap" because I have become accustomed to the higher price tag of whisky and thinking surely those in that range cant be "good"
