Got a cheeky unexpected business class upgrade on an Emirates flight that I’m on just now. Had a Jura Superstition, a Chivas 18 and am currently on a Glenfiddich 15. Still got 3 hours 40 until landing

Yep, always some hard to get Travel Releases out there...big 1L bottles of the yummie stuff!!
Picked up a travel exclusive at Cape Town on on the way out....
Says 40% on the photo but the one I picked up is 50% :erm:

I'm probably in the minority but this is my least favorite of the Laphroigs. That's not to mean it's not a good whisky, it's very drinkable.

You should try the 12 year old double cask if you like a more Sherry-influenced whisky. The double cask is similar to the old 12 year old before they launched the NAS 1824 series.

My sister brought me the Oban Bay Reserve (Night's Watch) from NZ. She paid about the same price as Bottega.
Bottleshop has it for R7,999 lol, no idea what they're smoking...

Same logic applies to most things.
I have actually been toying with this lately I have started looking at brandy and SA has awesome ones but I see R200-R400 as "cheap" because I have become accustomed to the higher price tag of whisky and thinking surely those in that range cant be "good"
