The research I've done on what I see, indicates something different. But the onus rests on the seller to do his own research.

Oh and I would like to revisit this gem:

I was going to drink it but you've fscked that up for me now.

I didn't realise you've already acquired the bottle and was about to open it?

Keep in mind that distilled spirits does not age in the bottle like wines or beers, so they don't gain any quality. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's worth anything more. In fact, stored incorrectly you're actually losing quality as it gets older.

tl;dr: Drink it.

I was hoping to, but all good. No probs from me. I like to drink my whisky not look at it, so if it has a value other than the price of the wet stuff, good luck to him.

An obvious and well know fact, that is completely irrelevant to this particular conversation.

It is about rarity, collectible and what collectors are willing to pay for a specific item.

Indeed, if that's a collectible bottle. Labels aren't in best condition and so on though, so I'm not sure that one would be so incredibly valuable, unless of course you know something we don't :D

I've watched quite a few reviews on Youtube and read some on Whisky Exchange and it seems many people say that it is neck and neck with Johnny Black even Double Black but cheaper.

Think I will try one

Nothing is special about the contents, it's the size, age and packaging that make these collectable...especially if one flips it again for a nice profit.

High risk strategy for something with such a small profit margin. Good luck.

Oh wtf, this thread just reminded me I need to buy me a bottle Jimmys tomorrow. (Jim Beam).

Was Honey-Jack ever launched here properly? Tried it at an event last year but haven't seen it around. The women enjoyed it...
Yes the wife likes it, but it's not my thing for sure. I love Bourbon and the honey just messes it up.

Firstwatch ever now and then, sometimes Johnny Walker Red.
Wtf First Watch and 100 Pipers gives me the biggest babalas ever. VAT45 isn't too bad a quality for the moderate price. Otherwise, it's Chivas Regal 12yr, Johnny Walker Black 12yr, or even Three Ships Black Label Bourbon or Jim Beam Bourbon of course.

I bought a bottle once and didn't think it was too bad.
