Basically what your paying for is for the SABC to loot and then the remainder is used to show knightrider on SABC 3 on repeat, I see it nearly every day as the TV in our canteen tends to be on sabc, its been playing constantly for years.

A DStv decoder can be purchased without a TV licence, but to actually use the device, it is required that the owner has a TV licence. The same is true for a PC TV tuner card.

I now am down to a single device which requires the posession of a TV license. When Santa gives me a 32 inch or bigger monitor with an HDMI port, that will negate my need for a TV license, then I will take the pain full route of cancelling my TV lisence.

No a tv set requires a license. It's quite clear in the regulations. It's only in recent years that the SABC has come up with this unproven crap.
