No person fresh out of high school looking for work has the proper writing spelling and reading skills, that is my experience when employing them the last few years. And this is not a race thing. This is all over5 the spectrum.

I have nieces and nephews in primary school in SA, fat kids are the norm, but then again in Africa being fat means you do not have HIV so I guess it’s something different here.

Fat does not equal uneducated or stupid people. Zim should then be the fattest off them all if we go by that.

i like to believe it's because in africa it's the way it's always been, and outside influences get to profit off of africa being the way it is. someone must be selling all these weapons and someone must be getting all these resources besides africa?

That is where you are wrong... No-one Actually CARES about Africa. Since the Mandela euproria has worn off.
All of the k@k that has happened in South Africa -STARTED- there. 95% the negative press published is syndicated from South Africa and published world-wide.

If you want to point at history, then look at the Vikings.. Saxons and all the others who invaded UK and other parts of europe. The brits are not special in any way. You dont see the British moaning at the Scandinavian countries for their problems! (and the Brits know HOW to moan alot!)

Rarely does someone write anything that is complimentary about Africa. This huge, exploited nation of primarily black people has been under siege for over 500 years, but most people in America treat Africa as though all of its people are incompetent or ignorant.

This control even extends into the politics of the nation; corporations in Europe manipulate African tribes to get or keep control over raw materials. But the reporters who write about Africa talk about tribal warfare and its carnage and never about the people pulling the strings.

Their previous year was 29 learners with a very bad pass rate. The point I tried to make was that if the "teachers" get off their lazy bums and and out of the "meeting" room and tend to the learners the situation would be totally different, this I see as analogous to everything in Africa. Once they reached a certain "level" they think the world owe them something? so they just sit and get someone else to do their work! A very good example are the Baffoona team. SA owe them for reaching that level, so they do not have to perform thereafter.

So you are one of those that still blame Slavery for todays woes? See, point and case ...... Africa will never change, it will remain the same until the end of days. Do not blame the colonizers/slavers, blame Africans for befitting the requirements/position and done nothing about it in all those centuries and even TODAY (like YOU) use the same excuses for it. Yet in this day and age after near 20 Years the ANC achieved absolutely nothing but enrich themselves and empowered a few and their excuse for that? .... Yes, Apartheid, as that are so convenient. The whiteys are so clever that they still defy everything the ANC have done to outdone them, or thats what they want YOU to believe.

Well if they want to bring students and education into the picture, series producers in the UK do a very good job at highlighting what sort of yobs live up there. There's a show where the spoilt, self-righteous little twats get to spend time in a more disciplined household overseas, ironically there have been quite a few cases where the kids have come to Africa. It's on BBC Lifestyle, can't remember what the show is called though.
 
I feel sometimes people say horrible things about other countries like the UK and USA to try and make themselves feel that there is nothing to complain about here.

No matter what you say about the UK. If we had the economy and stable politics ( compared to Africa ) they had. We all would have been better off. And no matter how you laugh at their fat kids, or whatever you do it cannot be made off as worse than Africa.

No country has no problems or opposition. Some countries just manage their people resources and criminals better.
 
But Mila that's exaclty the point in case here!!! Why do we NEED to complain about stuff here in SA? The very complainers here keep on reffering to other coutries abroad!!!

Pls read your comment and try and see that you defend OTHER countries MORE than you do your own...you'd rather complain about yours...you are a prime candidate for excursions abroad Mila...waai!

Why should I defend mine it's doing fsk-all for me?

You started by saying should you post about the US. Post your heart out. nothing there, Other than the weather is worse.. And by denying it we will only be making it worse. Saying:
Look at how good the taxes are spend in the US lets learn from them might get us somewhere. But nooooo!!

All too true - lazy teachers are a major contributory factor to SA education problems - maybe even the biggest !
