Why can't the "whites" do it too.

Kingrob, why did you not have the same comment to the american?

Raoul is at least in this country and therefore can give all the opinions he likes.

I think your reply is out of line.

No, it isn't. It irritates me when foreigners start asking stupid questions, without taking the time to do their homework beforehand.

If I immigrated to Sweden & living there, surely I would read up on the countries history, politics, etc before dishing out comments in a Swedish forum, especially wrt sensitive issues?

Maybe it's because I made the effort before moving to England for five years, that I had such an enjoyable time there?

I agree - then again I guess I am also a guest in the country so I'd better make a point of keeping my opinions to myself.

Yeah - right. Thats gonna happen.

Raoul, I think it's better if you just read these replies and not write anything - you're a foreigner and a guest in our country.

*Same as me discussing the Northern Ireland peace problems and giving advice to the Irish.

As someone said sometime ago - I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

:)

As Gavin pointed out, it seems you only attack people who you believe do not share your views - why have there been no attacks on Confederados or even bwana

Well in his defence Confederados is not in SA, so he can be ignorant over there and picking on Bwana is like taking candy from a baby, just not fun! :D

Oh so you know enough about our country to actually spout your garbage on our forum? What did I forget that Americans know everything and you are here to save us?

I never spouted any garbage about South Africa, please feel free to search all my posts to find where I make ridiculous claims about South Africa like you make about America.

So what is it the Jews fault that the US has a legacy of slavery now? So it's not only black and hispanics which are the problem the jews started it?

The Jewish people had a huge connection with the slave trade, go look it up, go to Google and type in "Jews and the slave trade". Heck even my Black history teacher in elementary school told us about this.

Seriously what do you expect when you name yourself after a bunch of guys who abandoned your country? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederados

I think they are interesting people like I find Afrikaners interesting.

Before shouting your mouth of again you need to realise that I have actually lived and worked in your country, you have just read about ours....

Is that so? And when you worked here you came up with all these retarded fanatical theories?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. According to all the texts I have read, the Arabs were the chief slave-traders. The black tribes were also very busy capturing neighbouring tribes in order to kill the men and boys and take the wives as slaves. King Shaka was the chief Zulu slave taker of Southern Africa. The Xhosa helped to eradicate the Khoi-San and many Griquas in their time too.

And lets touch on slavery in America for a moment. The British eradicated slavery in all their territories before it was fashionable so to do. The British fought the Yanks over this very theme. The Americans wanted to retain slavery. In fact the American Civil War was largely to do with slavery.

In South Africa the Afrikaners wanted to retain slavery, but the British removed it by passing unpopular laws.

Wait... wait... the limeys fought the yanks over slavery ? I don't think so...

The civil war was more about the north seeing the south getting too powerful; most Southerners call it the "war of northern aggression". The south was about to surpass the north economically and militarily (they already had the best generals in the nation). The north feared this; they didn't want the new capital being Atlanta. So they attacked the issue of slavery so they could stop the south's economic leap.

As opposed to attacking people that DO share his view, if he did that, that would just be stupid?

I am truly amazed. Once again a thread where we all measure who were wrong and were right, in the PAST. Once again a competition of who has been discriminated against the most in the past! It is like a game I played in pre-school about, my father has a tank and my father has a rocket!

South Africa is like a 10year old kid who is looking for excuses on why their homework is not done.

The government blame apartheid for their incompetence and arrogance. Whites feel sorry for themselves because the government is doing everything possible to discriminate against whites and blame the government. Companies employ incompetent people just to be politically correct and sacrifice their profits to at least stay in business. Whites blame government for not getting employed or a popper job because they are convinced that they are better than others and would do better than their counterparts in that job.

I can carry on and on... But if you look closely, my previous paragraph is filled with race, excuses and blame. Those 3 things has no racial division, in fact all of us use these 3 evils to avoid reality, regardless of our race. It is all about shifting blame and not taking responsibility. This can be done for several reasons. But the main 2 normally is to avoid the truth about ourselves and to get away with greed and incompetence.

I have my 5 cents about this and will definitely try to step on a few toes here...

1. Legalizing racism towards white people! End of story... It is not good for a country and flame the racial divide in this country. If government was truly serious about democracy they would act in a democratic manner. Every time you mention BEE, apartheid was the reason etc. you keep the racial fire fed. The reality is what you are doing is wrong and it is done for the wrong reasons, it is done to get even and to turbo charge wealth for a selected few. The fact is that people, regardless of race will notice what you are doing is wrong, and this will become your downfall.

Your actions are costing this country alot of growth and alot jobs. You do not learn how to manage a company studying in university. You do not learn the concept of business in a university. You definitely do not qualify for it by brown nosing... No you learn from example and experience. Your racism is causing the best people to leave the country and noone to teach the next generation people skills or leadership.

2. White people, regardless of your race. You have one life to live. If you want to spent your entire life living on excuses and avoidance of the reality that is your business, and I am not telling you what to do, but do not expect me to feel sorry for you. You have reason to complain about the current governments racism, but they did not take away your dignity. there is alot of opportunities in SA, just open your eyes and avoid your racial excuses. Go and stand infront of the mirror and tell yourself, you are a failure and it is because of governments policies about whiter people. Do you believe yourself? Yah right!

And so how does one learn if not by asking questions and getting involved in discussions? Exactly where should Raoul go to find this information?

But instead of explaining to him why you think his opinion is flawed, you decide to flame him instead. Nice job! :rolleyes

As work permit holder, I have worked in couple of Finance & IT companies (Pvt Sector) in SA, and I find lot of Whites & Indians occupying top positions. Very few Blacks & coloreds though. Would anyone know the reason?
I'm guessing because for the most part, indians are considered black as far as BEE goes, and most of the indians I've come across have a good work ethic which makes them good employees.

Yup, BEE Fronting is one solution being effectively implemented.
No, it's not. BEE is largely giving jobs to people who don't deserve the positions on the basis of their skin colour. The result is that the performance of those positions drops drastically and it encourages a don't-care attitude because you can get away with murder before you're fired. This leads to a nasty vicious circle because you then have people who think that they can get money for doing very little, and they even have experience to back it up.

And as explained above, it does nothing but fan the fires of racial tension.
