Any in Pretoria? I'm not travelling to PE just for a steak...
I've tried Crawdaddy's and Blackwoods. Neither came close to that juicy Spur steak.

What MSG sauce are you referring to? Every steakhouse, as far as I know, uses some form of sauce on their steak to get it juicy.
thug life
you can always ask them for just salt and pepper and olive oil
dont need to go with they bastings
But the sauce makes the taste.

They'd be right, though. If you need to slather your steak to death in sauce it isn't proper steak.

exactly not eating proper steak
try out just salt and pepper
its very tasty
It's not slathered in steak, it's just some special sauce they braai it with - it kinda cooks in.
If that's not "proper steak", I'll just keep enjoying my "improper" steak.![]()
If you're happy with your steak cooked that way, then that's fine - keep on enjoying it like that - I too felt that way before I learnt to enjoy good quality meat that was well prepared. But you should be aware that there is a whole world of taste out there that you're missing out on. If you just want the sauce, buy the burger - at least it's not tough to chew like many Spur steaks are.
There are those (myself included) who actually want the taste of the meat, not the sauce. That's why we order our steak blue or rare, and usually without a sauce. I don't season my steak at all when I'm braaiing - just have freshly ground salt and pepper there to dip it in to taste. If your meat is good, you don't need sauces. Slathering a steak in sauce is only necessary when the steak can't stand the scrutiny on it's own.
All this food talk is making me hungry!![]()
Tell me about it.
Craving a good steak now. And onion rings...
As a treat
So I don't have to wash up.
I like good and different food
I find routine cooking a bit mind-numbing to do every single day
