Why does everyone overtake on the left?

You are assuming that I am not.

If you drive real 120 and overtaking people I have no problem with you staying in the right lane.

If you are not doing one of the two, you should move over.

+100
Was going to say the same but restrained myself. No use arguing with an arrogant prick.

And if that person driving while having a heart attack lost control of the vehicle and killed your wife/sister/dad/cousin/whatever, what would your comment be then?

You have yet to show any indication of how. You also have not shown why my post is irrelevant.
Simple logic and a rudimentary understanding of dynamic systems. It's not rocket science. You are the root cause, not the person trying to overtake you.

You do not even know what car I drive. Or what equipment I have in the car. Yet you claim that I do not know my actual speed nor can I keep a constant speed.

All your statements are based on vague assumptions and baseless theories.

The arguments levelled at you are not influenced by the brand of tin can you choose to do your sanctimonious dick-waving in. But please supply copies of tests certifying that the equipment you have in your car enables you to keep a constant, pre-determined speed at all times and in all conditions.

And more waffle.

Give an explanation of how this work. If it is not rocket science it should be easy for you to provide an explanation.

No, no. You first. Please supply copies of tests certifying that the equipment you have in your car enables you to keep a constant, pre-determined speed at all times and in all conditions. Without that you have no leg to stand on, as you yourself will be alternating between being just over and just under the speed limit. You know, all those pesky changes in incline, sudden gusts of wind, variation in tyre pressure & thus speedo accuracy, etc. etc.

Please explain how these everyday physical occurrences have no effect on your car at all, hence allowing you to keep a permanently constant speed. Whilst still breaking a law.

Hopefully I take you with me one less f@#$ktard for the populace to deal with

As predicted. You have nothing.

...and you're still being a sanctimonious law-breaking tit. Unless of course you can supply copies of tests certifying that the equipment you have in your car enables you to keep a constant, pre-determined speed at all times and in all conditions.

Falling back to name calling when you cannot get your point across. Pure class.

If "everyone" fluctuates to slightly above and below 120 (because nobody has a golden foot) then it still holds that you will not come into contact with me if you keep to the speed limit, as I am doing the same.

I see that as a blessing
You missed the gist of the post.

There was no gist - you are being like a child. One cannot reason with a child so I left you with a basic comment.

But please, explain to me how I, when driving at 120km/h in the right hand lane, cause traffic jams? This I would love to hear. If you can tell me this, I would sell my car and drive again.

The fact that you keep a free flowing lane occupied - and due to the fact that you WILL break for miscellaneous reasons during your trip results in a ripple / butterfly effect backwards through traffic.

Read this article: "Traffic Jam Mystery Solved By Mathematicians" and then kindly sell your car.

Dr Orosz continued: "When you tap your brake, the traffic may come to a full stand-still several miles behind you. It really matters how hard you brake - a slight braking from a driver who has identified a problem early will allow the traffic flow to remain smooth. Heavier braking, usually caused by a driver reacting late to a problem, can affect traffic flow for many miles."

Well, no. It only follows that some people will be better able to than others, hence either gaining or losing ground on each other. Which implies that, sooner or later, someone pretty much keeping to the speed limit will gain enough ground on you to reasonably expect to overtake you. At which point you shouldn't even need to move left, because you should have ****ed off left as soon as you overtook the person who was moderately worse at keeping a constant 120km/h than what you are.

Unless, of course, you want to contend that you are more adept at keeping to a constant 120km/h than anyone else, or that you can supply copies of tests certifying that the equipment you have in your car enables you to keep a constant, pre-determined speed at all times and in all conditions.

I find this thread very entertaining.

I was told something by a teacher when still in primary school. It has to do with road rules and what not. Till this day I have lived by what I heard that day and I can tell you it has not just protected me but everyone I have met on the road.

"Jy moet jou eie reg prysgee"

Forgo your rights

Meaning,
If you are at a stop street and it's your turn to go according to the rules, but obviously the other guys isn't going to stop. Just let him pass.
If you are driving 120 km/h in the fast lane and some one comes flying up your arse at 200 km/h. Move up. If you see someone is going to push in front of you give them space.

Stubberness is what is causing lots of stupid accidents, I'm actually leaning towards the majority of accidents.

The fact that you keep a free flowing lane occupied
What part of doing 120 is not free flowing? Please, clarify this for me. How is doing 120 not free flowing?

- and due to the fact that you WILL break for miscellaneous reasons during your trip results in a ripple / butterfly effect backwards through traffic.
Yes. Thank you for making my point that hasty drivers that do not keep safe distances cause traffic jams. And not people that drive within the speed limit and focus what is up ahead instead of trying to get close enough to the driver in front in hope that he will move over. I have bolded the part of your quote below. Brackets my own for clarity.

It really matters how hard you brake - a slight braking from a driver who has identified a problem early will allow the traffic flow to remain smooth. Heavier braking, usually caused by a driver reacting late to a problem [or having less time because he is not keeping a safe following distance], can affect traffic flow for many miles."

uFiS, you're a Dumbass. I think just about everyone here agrees. The more you post, the more clear it is how retarded you are. By staying the right lane instead of keeping left, you are breaking the law 100% of the time whereas a would-be speeder may be speeding only for 5% of the time. Case closed. Go straight to jail. Do not pass begin.

uFiS

JUST GET OUT OF THE FAST LANE FFS!!!!!!!

Why hog the fast lane? 'cos you can?

It's people like you who cause more accidents than those speeding. You're obstructing free flowing traffic.
