Why have kids?

My ultimate goal is reproduce with the best looking girl that is willing to have my babies

Why do you want kids? Or why did you have them?

Look around you, the world is in a mess. Isn't 7 billion people enough? The world has non stop wars, famine, unemployment and homelessness. This does not compute.

Do you just want to make "copies" of yourself to show other people you can?

Let me guess, you are in your early 20's and have never had a serious relationship?

But to answer your question - children are incredibly rewarding, it is also important to bring children into this world who are loved and educated and who can make a positive impact on the future for mankind.

Also, there are 7 billion people on the planet, why don't you kill yourself?

have you looked around you and seen how many are really loved?
so 10 (maybe) out of one billion will make a difference to the future every 20 years

are you trying to be an arse?

If the "good" genes do not get "sent" into the world we will end up with a brain drain of sorts in a generation or four.

I believe I have good genes to pass on, but I think that I might still adopt. Will see how I feel when I get there.

I don't understand what it is you want here. Is it validation of your choice not to have children? Go you. Is it to dissuade others from having children? Do you view the human race as a blight on the planet? So why not off yourself? Someone has to promulgate the species. Maybe you wouldn't be a suitable father - there's nothing wrong with that, get the snip and be at peace. I wish many men had made the same decision rather than raising children they were unfit to care for. But for those of us who love our children, who raise them properly - so that they get welcomed where we go, and contribute to society - why on earth wouldn't we have them? Frankly nothing on earth could persuade me to forgo the immense, humbling privilege of fatherhood.

Not an easy thing to have kids, but probably up there with the best experiences in life.

I remember a study that scored different events in ones life, e.g. getting fired was negative, getting married was positive etc.

Children scored a 0. The positives equaled the negatives. So they add zero value to ones life.

People want kids because they represent something that adults once had but lost - innocence.
Kids are uninhibited and just want to have fun. This carefree attitude dissolves over time once we become prisoners in our own materialism.
children gives us an escape.

Why, because it was something I hadn't done yet and I felt like doing it.

If the world were in a mess it wouldn't be any sort of mess it hasn't been in for thousands of years.

I would hope my child will be better than me, not a copy.
