why is WoW so addictive?

I got bored actually..... played it for around 3 months recently and then just stopped..... tried out Halion on hard mode and after that I just though.... bleh, I'll wait for Cata.

Have done 9/12 25 man ICC hard modes and it was all good and fun, but just don't like the "You have to be online at 6:30pm server time for raids".... waste of time.

It is addictive though... its competitive so you want to try and be your best.

careful mate. check your battle.net account 1st before clicking any links. thats the only way to confirm that you have a beta key, otherwise scammers all the way...

I have thought about this, but I can't put my finger on it, so to speak. I just know that every day I look forward to logging on to mock the gnomes in the guild, make fun of the pallies, laugh at the Liverpool supporters, try to chat up the foreign women and go kill stuff.

so I think this weekend I probably spent a total of about 3 hours outside of my house... went to watch the rugby (and we still lost! )

All I can say is, thank God I dont have a girlfriend at the moment!

so what, for you, makes this game so addictive?

The best reason for the addiction I can think of is the gambling aspect of the game, always a chance for that item. Another reason I think is most things are always just out of reach but with effort you can craft that item or get the rep for that mount, its the thought that the items are if you really want them. I dunno, keeps it fun and interesting. Not played for a few months now due to the Seacom issues but its nice to take a break tbh. I really miss the beauty of the game, the scenery, forests etc.

I used to get a ton of these scammer links, trying to get me to login. A year ago created an email address exclusively for WoW. Since then I've not received a single email from anybody except legit ones from Blizzard. I guess "Keep it secret, keep it safe!" is appropriate here
