Why Mugabe is a true African hero

I will gladly openly debate the article that the OP posted. Note that I do know and understand the history, the problem however is that this emerging hero turned out to be a dictator and ultimately a tyrant who changed Rhodesia in his own best interest, coming to the Zimbabwe independence and split between ZANU and ZAPU which turned into a slaughter between the people who wanted independence, yes, they did come to terms and created ZANU PF, which happened then up to today is Suppression OF the Zimbabwean People, not only white, but also black and all other ethnic groups.

The agenda and policies in Zimbabwe is in near competition with North Korea, each trying to surpass the other in establishing “NO” human rights, or rather lack therein, each dictator being their countries constitution.

That P burning the Zimbabwean people’s beloved country, will throw every single human being in his way to protect his own interest. HE’S VERY MUCH AFRAID.

So Redeemed, are you Zimbabwean? Should you be or not, explain why the Zimbabwean people are turning towards SA to have a chance in having a Future or be able to support their Families?

In regard with suppressing people due to DIFFERENCES, I will take this movie line:

"Tears of the Sun"

“Go with God,” he said in a shaky voice, as he waved a frail hand in the air to bid the refugees leaving his Mission a safe journey.

“God already left Africa,” LT curtly retorted to the soldier standing next to him. “Yea…that’s right.” Replied the soldier.

These dictators and supporting groups always cries God, I believe Mugabe once stated that he was “God’s other son.” But they are the racists and those who ENFORCE Xenophobia.

The worst is that our very own country have these types running around, many whom is in high places.

There Redeemed… I contributed.

Hardly its just the usual small posse who can only resort to personal insults. Ironically the same types who did their nut at those who dare oppose fellow 'progressive' Mugabe not so long ago....

Was once not only an African hero but of the left too....

i meant that they cannot simply debate, they have to sneak remarks and insults in their comments too :p that is how vehemently they oppose an different point of view :p

In response to the OP's article - there are a number of folks (not just on this forum) who might take issue with Robert Mugabe being presented as anything resembling a hero. Here is just one such group - called Genocide Watch

Here is a taste of what Genocide Watch have to say about Robert Mugabe:

My opinion for what it is worth? Robert Mugabe is a self-serving, power-hungry and greedy criminal, who has held on to power at any cost (except his own). My suspicion is that he knows if he doesn't hold on to power he will land up in court within hours (maybe minutes) of stepping out of his portfolio. He rules by fear, cronyism and force - using and abusing whatever he can muster to quell dissent. The person is a menace and a total disgrace to every person proud to call themselves African.

While a broken clock is right at least twice a day, that site has its own agenda and has encouraged more harm than good for the image of our country. It's the equivalent of Nazi's claiming that the jews in Germany are now gassing them

Agree in part Alan - how the mighty are fallen, hey? But once a hero - always a hero - no, I don't think so.

I was one of those cheering when Robert Mugabe took over from Ian Smith - yes, I was kicking about the planet in those days. But to continue thinking he is OK because his history includes some good stuff? That was then (his "old" life) - this is the past two decades...
He Mugabe was a criminal terrorist before he took over and remained the same terrorist and criminal towards his own people up untill today!

Yup - there are crackpots on both sides - throwing it all in the goo... :p

Yup..I have heard stories that there has never been a free and fair election in Zimbabwe, even the first one in 1980 was rigged to let Mugabe win.

Man, this true african Mugabe topic is so... meh... I'm going back to the ban the blowjob thread.

I see the ANC as the same concept. They thought against apartheid etc... but have sunk to low levels/disgrace ... and supporters still see ANC as a "hero"/win... wtf.

Truth. My uncle was a police constable in Zimbabwe at the time, and on election day he was assigned to a polling station to prevent any violence... he reported numerous irregularities to the international authorities "supervising" the elections, but was ordered to do and say nothing as the elections "had to proceed smoothly". The liberal idiots of the time were far more concerned with converting Zimbabwe into a "democratic nation" than for the long-term health of the country and its people, and look at where the country is now.

6 pages later & the redeemed has not had the courtesy to contribute a single word to his thread, besides defending his posting of PR / sunshine opinion pieces flattering his 2 main african hero's - mugabe & malema !

speaks volumes !

He runs? or his slaves run 5km with him in his bullet proof Sedan Chair?

Lol what's the use when you have been told (even by mods) that any view of the man contrary to the commonly held MYBB one will be met with insults and that the insults are justified and deserved?

Any responsible view about Madbob the African clown Mugabe with no brain are more in the line of International thought. Only a few sub Saharan despots in the Southern part of Africa believe that the idiot are even worth discussing or debating about. Usually they are the far left prior terrorists that believe that Africa was robbed by humanity and that Africans did not sell their own souls for self enrichment. Then when their "elected" leaders rise to power the corruption and cheating their own citizens takes priority at all costs just like MadBob Mugabe are doing and then there are idiots believing that the MadBob Mugabe type ilk are the only solution and saviour for their problems even while their own people suffer in hunger and die. The fact that there are South Africans that see him as a sort of god are just sick and only highlights what's really wrong with this country. That's why people like the Zumas and Malema's rise to power and people like Mandela are few or non existing.

There is plenty of use
As much as i despise the man - he knows how to capture an audience !
I too, am captivated by his oratory skills, hanging on to is every word - although in my case, I have to admit, it is more of a morbid fascination.

I think your problem is, that you have difficulty understanding, that a person that once was a hero, can turn into a despot/dictator.
