If 419 scammer asked you for your birth certificate would you hand it over to him? Ok, Berg might not be a scammer but he's definitely a nutcase with a political agenda even if it doesn't exactly favour McCain.

Every four years a whole bunch of lunatics come out of their closets, hoping to trash candidates from both parties...Just imagine if Hillary was the candidate, the crazies would've had a field day.
 
The guy could well become president of the U.S by doing nothing. In fact the little he has done would have had any other candidate kicked out of the running. It's no surprise then that he suffers from narcissism.

Now he suffers from narcissism. No mate McCain is confused about his identity and which campaign he wants to run. The wingnuts are telling him to go after Obama's radical ties and throw the kitchen sink along with it while McCain's moderate instincts are convinced that the "Country First" BS will convince Americans that he's fit for the job.

Obama has done something, in fact he greatest accomplishment has been his ability to communicate his policies and plans whereas McCain has been erratic and sounds like he's still fighting the Cold War- stuck in the 80s with Knight Rider, MacGuyver, The A-Team and Airwolf.

Hand it over. Both candidates are guilty of evasion. Why? Although a birth certificate might be less sensitive than medical records, it should be handed over. These people want to run a country and nothing should be secret. They made the choice. Neither of the candidates strike me as a good candidate (that's just me) so the one that is doing the worst seems like the one I would not vote for. Obama is only digging his own hole.

It is the people of America's right to know these things. Why would someone want to withhold their birth certificate (among other things)? Hopefully this will get resolved soon.

The way I see it is, Obama is an outlet for all the americans who hate bush and want change, which unsurprisingly just so happens to also be the basis for his campaign slogan.

McCain on the other hand is an outlet for all the 'conservative' white folk who are set in their ways. Those ways being xenophobia if not outright old fashioned racism. A lot of his supporters, support him more out of hate for Obama than agreement with his views.

If you've seen some of McCain's latest town hall rallies, the nut jobs amongst his supporters have finally surfaced, as they shouted and aired a number of their highly offensive opinions about Obama. They even booed McCain when he denounced (as he has done numerous times during his campaign) the crazier views his campaign and supporters have seen fit to spread so eagerly. This raises the question I put forth earlier about whether they are supporting him or whether they merely hate Obama.

Of course, I do not believe that all of McCain's supporters are nut job american racists, nor that Obama is only supported due to Bush's low approval ratings. Still, it is interesting to view the different campaign strategies which they have employed, as both are aimed at specific groups within the USA. Obama has been all about change and tying McCain to Bush, while McCain's has been all about attacking(if not smearing) Obama's character.

That McCain and the one that ran against Bush in 2000 seems very different to the McCain of today though. There's no doubt he's shifted to the right to try and get the evangelical vote.
 
It's strange how with McCain it's the other way around. Normally candidates gravitate toward the center as the campaign goes forward. Obama's gone from extreme left to "moderate"

It doesn't seem to be working for him either, you know its bad when even Kristol's telling him to fire his campaign! :eek: A lot of that's probably the economy though.
 
Obama was saved by the economic crises. Threw McCain off badly. MCain's not out of it though. Poll numbers are usually rubbish. Considering this shouldn't even be a contest it shows Obama isn't the great politician he is given credit for :o

I think the Palin selection threw him off badly too. It might help him with the base but it didn't help with independents and moderates which is who he really needed to win. Its also hard to be seen a maverick when you've got Steve Schmidt controlling your every syllable.

Of course Obama's unspoken advantage is that he's outspending McCain in ad buys etc. massively.
