Wife cheated

It’s not exactly the same and I don’t have a wife but I’d probably just laugh at him since I’m with her and he’s not. I don’t see how getting into a fight over something like that is worth it. Be flattered.
You're joking right? Flattered?!! After that do you jump on your Vespa and ride off?

The "I'm easily threatened" vibe is strong here.

Hell if you trust her she'll stand up for herself. Why does she need you to feel all threatened, and have you act like a caveman ****? What are you going to do, hit everyone that looks at her? :p

im not going to be all flattered and flowery that some guy is busy hitting on my wife in front of me. Get a life

She will ignore it. If he is persistent I will let him know in a civilized way he is barking up the wrong tree.
Only after that will I feel the need to escalate.

More importantly how would your wife handle it
1 in front of you
2 when you not around
Exactly this - I trust my partner unconditionally.
If she ever gives me reason not to then we're done... simple.

She is too nonchalant about cheating. She had no emotional connection to the guy but just cheated. This is a huge warning sign. It means you married a slut who wanted to try marriage. It might have felt special to you but to her a long-term commitment was something she wanted to try. It didn't make her happy. Now she wants an out. She is waiting for you to get angry so she can have a reason to say you behave X way and that is why she is leaving you. The fact that she admitted cheating will help you in divorce proceedings. Don't screw it up by extending it.

It’s just a messed up soapy type of scenario.
She is still living here and wants to do things together.
She insists that I can’t do anything to change her mind. But she can hardly look me in the eye
"She insists that I can't do anything to change her mind" Seems like she's been wanting to pull the plug for a while. Not able to look you in the eyes—embarrassed by her deeds? Maybe. I think you just have to let her go, easy for an outsider to say, but pulling the divorce card on the spot like that just drains the effort to try to make things work.

My argument is that if you dont trust you SO , you spend every second of everyday worrying and wondering and thinking.

Who she talking to.
If I touch her here, whos hands were here before me.
does she talk personally and rely on someone else emotionally. And rely on them emmotionally instead of you.

If you have that, its already too late. Rather leave her , live the single life. Maybe even be the dog instead of being the one the whos girlfriend the dog rogers into Uranus.

If your first love has left you or gone somewhere else I do not know if you ever find it again. That damage is done and it will bubble up in your future relationships.

If shes done it once and you cant literally make peace and FORGET about it then and there. Leave. It'll come up in every argument, every shitty comment. I dont think its repairable.

Woman seem to chase the fairytale in my experience. Which makes them easy to pickup, but not logical to keep for a long run when things normalize. Excitement and something new is just that , but when it gets old.

In my earlier years I recall haveing to treat a girl like a lady and really put in effort to go out with them. Nowadays they come up to you and will go home with you for a free drink.

No disrespect to woman.... but its what Ive seen in my experience. Another funny thing is. Meet a single mom and say you dont want to get involved in a relationship with a child thats not yours and your the biggest pig alive.

Tell a woman your a single dad and watch them dissapear instantly. There is definitely a double standard.

anyway...my 23 cents.

That is decades of feminist indoctrination manifesting itself as entitlement. Believe it or not, it gets worse than that, there are woman who think that dating whilst pregnant is perfectly acceptable behaviour.

Oddly enough, I had great success with that line.

I explain that I have my son all the time. Not every second weekend and occasionally on wednesday. And that they gonna have to accept that he comes first. I dont have time for drama and I dont allow it in my house.

OP, at least you are getting out early, it could have dragged on for a few more years.
Once you are over the pain of betrayal then single life might be quite fun, go do all of the things you really want to do.

I'm single parent to 2 young girls who are stuck with me 24/7/365.

Have had the opposite experience to be honest.
seeing the responses I may be a bit of a dick about it. I make it very clear that we can "do this" , but dont be in my house at 7am. I also like crazy woman.... they best in the sack. Not mother material.
