I remember the techie that was at my place mentioned the same about gaming and the uncapped accounts

I heard that there are/was issues on the SAT3, maybe that is the issue or throttled/shaping?

Well I have been testing Kawuleza for a day now. I'm not 100% sure about it just yet... I got some heavy lag in cod 4 and thought it may be the server, but it was just me :(

Speed, up and down, is excellent! Pings are very good for wireless and very close to dsl! The only hassle I have on the 4mbps uncapped home package is international download speeds! They are slower than my 1mbps adsl account. Uploads are fine though???

Anyone else on a similar package? If I were only interested in local speeds, this account would be perfect. But I do use international and do require decent speeds... Not necessarily 4mbps, but at least 1.5-2mbps

I don't think any uncapped wireless solution would be great for online gaming. :) International downloads can be affected by SAT3 or SEACOM downtime...

Hehe, it is good! Just the occasional lag spike which I still got with dsl anyway (due to exchange distance)

I have noticed on mine, when the lightning hits, I have packet drops, other than that, no real difference for me. :)

Anyone know of any Wisps that operate or have coverage in Polokwane (Pietersburg) ? I moved just outside the city recently, Telkom exchange being around 900m from my home, but Telkom outright refuses to fix the little bit of cable that some Noob stole. I'm in the Dalmada area.

I tried that Wapa website. Doesn't seem to work anymore.

Also, www.wanworx.co.za is a nono.

Lol!

Work starts at 8 for me... So I'm up by 6.

Just thought I would test it this morning and it was really impressive :)

But, I have noticed something since playing MW3. I always just thought that it's blops and the servers being hosted by MWEB, seeing as cap for my connection was provided by telkom, that it was peering issues. But now, since it's not anymore, it must be the connection itself.

Tracing route to mweb.co.za [196.2.63.110]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.8.1
2 3 ms 6 ms 9 ms vpn-r3.jhb.amobia.com [41.206.215.9]
3 5 ms 4 ms 4 ms br-tra-r1.jhb.amobia.com [41.206.215.1]
4 8 ms 4 ms 6 ms jhb-cor-sw1-vlan50.frogfoot.net [41.206.220.113]

5 4 ms 4 ms 5 ms jhb-br-r1.frogfoot.net [41.206.220.9]
6 33 ms 6 ms 4 ms 41-66-151-17-11.available.africainx.net [41.66.151.17]
7 6 ms 5 ms 7 ms jb-mr-msc-mx-to-jb-id-msc-mx-mgmt-p2p.africainx.net [41.66.128.130]
8 6 ms 5 ms 6 ms mweb-1.jinx.net.za [198.32.142.25]
9 * 18 ms 7 ms TenGigE0-2-0-0.vic-up-1.mweb.co.za [196.22.163.6]
10 39 ms 29 ms 28 ms 197-84-4-34.cpt.mweb.co.za [197.84.4.34]
11 285 ms 25 ms 27 ms vlan11.cpt-hscore-1.mweb.co.za [196.28.178.99]
12 40 ms 28 ms 27 ms 196-28-178-34.adsl.mweb.co.za [196.28.178.34]
13 43 ms 28 ms 28 ms www.mweb.co.za [196.2.63.110]

I don't know how to explain this, but I get like "pauses" in the game, like the connection drops and it's normally for something like 10-20s. I don't know how to test it, cause my downloads runs just fine. I will do a ping test later when I play to see if I get any packet drops.

Well I have now been on kawuleza for a week and I must say, so far, so good :)

Download speed always above 350kB/s and tops out at 4mbps. Latency is good to webafrica, saix and igame servers, not so great to mweb servers though :/

Latency overall is good. 15ms ping to newlands, and 35 to jhb.

:Impressed face:

I think they are the best wireless provider so far. I haven't trialled their product yet, waiting for their offices to open.

They are the only one I have tried, but so far I'm quite happy! Support has been top notch and speeds and performance have not been a problem yet
