I have a Dlink G225 router as supplied by telkom. My wifi network speeds drop to a low 5-1mbps when Im not very far away from my router bringing down my real world 10mbps internet speed down to about
2.5 -1mbps. When I change my wifi network from 802.11n to 802.11b then at the same spot in my house the wifi network speed only drops to 11mbps. But 802.11b creates other issues with my camera. I understand that walls and interference plays a big role. But is there any wifi setting on my router that I can adjust to get better reception or maby force the speed to stay higher at 802.11n? Had a tp link router and on the same wifi signal strength at the same spot I used to still get a network speed of at least 30mbps?

I hope someone can help me.

Thanx

I would suggest that you invest in a decent Access Point...
I've installed many UniFi Access Points and they're epic and very reasonably priced... it's not consumer grade rubbish.
Go see scoop.co.za or dbg.co.za - I'd suggest the AP AC Lite or the AP AC LR (Long Range) if you require larger coverage
