i have the telkom Hauwei HG532f adsl wifi router.

i only have PS4 and one desktop connected via LAN. all other devices wifi.

PS4 is cool to go direct internet. Battlefield gets priority :)

I want to route all other devices to the desktop, which will house a proxy.
I tried to put proxy address in the devices, but Android is still as stubborn as ever not to make a global proxy. For the life of me, i cannot understand why such a big concern as google is struggling / do not want to put global proxy settings. Proxy only works for browsing... yes proxydroid works well, but you need to root, which i'm not in favour of.

So this leaves me with the only other option.. put some sort of forward on router to take all wifi traffic and put to desktop IP, which i have configured in the router to get same static IP everytime.

Can someone pls point me in right direction on how to do this. I spent and hour on net this morning, but yet no closer to a solution. All i got thus far it's not possible.

What you wanna use the desktop as a gateway?

yes, i want it to act as gateway / proxy

I want to control what my kids access on net.
router parental control sucks

I don't think the average home router supports the functionality you're after aka transparent proxying.

The easiest solution to your problem is to change the DHCP settings on your wireless AP so it gives the IP of your desktop as the default gateway, that way all traffic will go through the desktop and you can just manually configure the desktop and PS4 so it goes directly via the router. The desktop will need to be configured accordingly since it will be more a router than just a proxy.
If you had specific proxy software in mind for the monitoring, then you can configure a rule on the desktop to forward all traffic through the proxy.
