Hi

I wonder if anyone can assist.
I installed a 4 gang wifi switch but it refuses to go into pairing mode.
The switches are "no neutral required " and I have installed the capacitor at L1 light bulb .
I have installed 2 x 2 gang switches and they both work and are connected to the app via wifi .
The 4 gangs are giving me issues .
The brand is Eachen and they use EWelink APP.

Usually just hold the button longer.

Also what makes you say it’s not in pairing mode? Do the light switches not flicker? Or do you just not see the AP?

Hi . I have held the button for longer than 5 sec and still nothing, the other 2 gangs that I have paired go into pairing mode fine after 5sec holding the button in . The 4 gang both of them just click and turn all buttons off .

What is the status of the led when pressing the button to pair? Fast blinking 3 times with a repeat...
I assume you are using the Quick Paring mode on Ewelink

It blinks once and then switches all buttons off , it fails to go into pairing mode . The issue is going into pairing mode .

I have same problem with 1 gang

Tried 2 units

When the power is switched on at dB board it blinks fast

When I press and hold for 5, 10 or 15 secs it switches on and off

Anyone done this successfully?

Did you manage to sort this out?

Same issue with the Eachen switches. It's infuriating. They go into pairing mode fine when you first wire them up, but I've had to switch out my router and I simply cannot get them to re-enter pairing mode to hook up to the new one. Anyone with further thoughts/insights?

40+ seconds (and longer!) didn't work :(

Update: I've managed to pair a few of the switches by using "Compatible mode" (bottom left of "Add Device" screen). Long press for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode (two flashes and then solid), then release, long press for another 5 seconds until the light is flashing constantly, then try to pair.

This only worked for 3 of my 6 switches though. 3 still absolutely refuse to enter pairing mode.

Do you nerd to switch off power at dB and then do this

Or can you just hold for 5 and then another 5?

The ones that worked did so without switching off power at the DB. I think I'll totally disconnect the remaining ones, reconnect them and see if they revert to "factory" settings. Will report back.

Pain in the ass though. Considering looking for another brand. There are a few other "no neutral" options available locally.

Are you testing with the faceplace installed? I've found that the faceplates sometimes sit funny and don't register the presses.

Take the faceplate off and just touch the white pad instead, and see if that works. IIRC I also had to setup a separate 2.4GHz network for them as they wouldn't work on my blended 2/5GHz SSID.

Update: I've managed to pair one more unit by switching off 5G radio AND switching off Wi-Fi 6 mode on my router. The remaining 2 units will simply not go into pairing mode at all.

Ive managed to get into pairing mode by also removing faceplate

But ewelink will not pick it up at all

I've even tried doing hot spot on another phone as per geewizz

Is there another app / app that I can try and pair with?

I have a few Sonoff switches on the eWeLink app, on a couple of occasions I've moved stuff around and had to pair some of them again. Several attempts at pairing one of them with EweLink on an Android phone failed but succeeeded as soon as I tried it with an (older) iPhone.

I seem to recall trying an app called Smart Life some while ago - you might want to have a look at that.

Thanks will give smart life a try
