Wii Game Reviews

Cool. I must still get into Zelda. I'm still doing the whole learning curve thing in the beginning doing the little mini mission and so forth. I've just gotten too many games in the last two months that everything is overwhelming. I also just recently got Excite Truck and Rayman Raving Rabbids is arriving on Monday.

What I've decided is that when I play a game, I concerntrate on only one game at a time. So one night will be Dead Rising, next night maybe Trauma Centre, another night Burnout Revenge, and so on.

Will post a small review of Rayman next week sometime. I'm really looking forward to it.

I find that when playnig a game its most definately wiser to concentrate on one game at a time. Its the only way to play. for one, different games ahve different control systems and when you play say zelda you adapt and incorporate the control system into your psyche....taking a break and playing another game usually makes me fumble..control wise
 
I would rather say , concentrate on one game per console.
That's easier.
 
WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Wii Review

YES!! Everything you've heard and read about WarioWare: Smooth Moves is true! This game is SOOOOOOO much fun!! Unfortunately the single player is extremely short. I finished it in just over 2 hours. I think it's the very first game I've finished on the Wii. So I'm a little disappointed that it's over, but I'm sure I can play it again to get better at the mini games. This is also the first WarioWare game I've played.

This is definitely a party game. If you plan on inviting lots of friends over, then this is the game to get. I can only imagine how weird it's going to look people putting the Wiimote on their head and kneeling up and down, and other weird things, especially if you've had a few drinks. Will have to organise a Wii evening with my friends.

Gameplay: Basically you play through a bunch of mini games. From slicing a barrel in half, to picking a giant nose, to shredding paper, too many to list. Each one is a little bit of a learning curve as you have to adjust yourself as to how you'll use the Wiimote, but once you know what to do, then it's just a matter of pulling it off with the Wiimote. You only need one Wiimote for multiplayer and you can have up to 12 players. So you'll be frantically passing the Wiimote around the room, which could be alot of fun. I think I read there are about 205 mini-games all together, so there is lots of variety.

Graphics: Very weird and crazy animation. No fancy 3D graphics here. I don't even think it's needed. The fun aspect is what makes this game. It suites it very well for this type of game. Some of the cartoons are pretty funny. I was giggling at the cats and dogs on the disco dancefloor.

Sound: The music is really catchy and you'll find yourself bouncing to the tunes of all the characters in the Wario World. Unfortunately still no full voice overs in this game. Well I suppose it doesn't really need voices overs.

Overall, I'm really happy with this game. It's the first game I've had the most fun with the Wiimote. It definitely uses the Wiimote in lots of different and bizarre aspects. I'm looking forward to the other mini-game type of Wii games coming out. WiiPlay and Mario Party 8. And as I said, I should be getting Rayman Raving Rabbids on Monday.

Rayman Raving Rabbids Review

I cannot believe how much fun I am having with my Wii and all it's games!! I'm actually having more fun with my Wii than my 360 at the moment.

Rayman Raving Rabbids. What can I say? Except FUN, FUN and more FUN! I played for about an hour last night. I would have played longer, but my arms were sore from waving my arms around continuously (for the past couple of days). I got to the end of Day 2, and had completed 9 of the mini-games.

The most fun was the dancing mini-game, where you have to use the wiimote and nunchuck like drum sticks and play along with the beat. And the one game I'm stuck on is where the rabbids are on the loo and you have to keep the doors shut as they keep on opening. It's quite difficult.

I still have to play it a bit more to get a real feel for it, but I can see this game being real fun for parties. And what's great is that it supports 4 players. At the I've only got 3 wiimotes and 1 nunchuck. I'll get my 4th wiimote with Wii Play and I've ordered 3 nunchucks.

I'm not sure how the multiplayer aspect will work, as I've read on wiki about all the problems with Rayman - "not all of the trials had multiplayer opportunities, reducing the game's potential as a party game". I'll have to see when it comes to that.

So far I see this game as being really alot of fun. I cannot imagine playing Rayman on any other platform other than the Wii, even though it's been released for PC, PS2, 360 and a few other mobile handhelds. It's just so much fun waving your arms around all over the show.

If you own a Wii then this is definitely another title to add to your collection.
 
Went to the post office this morning to fetch a package which contained three Wii carts..namely Call O' Duty 3, Madden NFL and the Metal Slug Anthology..Metal slug anthology has metal slugs 1, 2, X, 3, 4, 5 AND 6....have seen and played all of them in the arcade, except for part 6 as this si teh first time part 6 is availiable.

OMG .. metal slug huh ? you have a NTSC machine yes ? I want that game so bad...but not on PAL yet..

Thats right...me have NTSC machine....Metal slug anthology is appaerntly a perfect port from Arcade to Wii...

I ordered it thinking I would need the classic controller in order to play it (i dont have one yet) but was pleasantly surprised when I saw on teh back of teh box you use the Wiimote and nunchuck to play it....got it this morning before work....so not played it yet...am amped!!!!
 
oh i know all about it, uses wii remote in 7 ways to control ..just choose one you like..

But tell us how it is !
 
I didn't know what Metal Slug was. Downloaded a video off YouTube showing all the different modes. Very interesting!!

Let's hope more games use this way of using the Wiimote. Or at least allow us to customise the controls to our liking.

Gameplay looks like fun. But I've got so many similar Arcade style games on my XBox 360. Maybe I'll get this one when the price comes down or something.

well I love the arcade version so I am loving it....a bit harder to play with a d-pad but still awesome....maybe when I get a classic controller it will be easier
 
I ordered some US Wii games on Take2 and then a week later I ordered some off Ebay....the games I ordered on Ebay have arrived....arroven...err......arriveded with absolutely no sign of my stuff from Take 2....in future I will be ordering all my stuff on Ebay...When I saw US games on Take 2 I was happy and thouht that it was nice that there was a local retailer I could buy my **** from ...... but won't be doing that no more....my order status has been the same for ages...check it out.....my logon is Nathan.petersen(at)gmail.com and my password is "cheesewizard"...i think they are called take2 cause they take 2 "months" to get your **** to you?!?!!??!

I got a call from an take2 rep last night who told me he was delivering my stuff today.. so Today is the day (hopefully) that I get Red Steel and Splinter Cell.....this is the fourth xmas I ahve had this year so far....standby for reviews!!!

hey is it me, or does the wii seem like childish(im not insulting anyone, and im not a fan boy. nfact the ps3 is to mature and the xbox360-well thats just microsoft).please help me here, coz like the games seem very... youthful. and i was wondering if it came with any games like resistance:fall of man or Gears of War? i don't wanna antanganise you all.

I'm sure that 3rd party developers will develop more mature games for it.

I have Zelda, Splinter Cell and red steel. Zelda is a game for all ages, It can be seen as kiddy, but its a brilliant game that can be played by anyone.

Splinter cell looks very cool. Have not spent much time with it yet, still busy with Zelda, but the little I saw looks awesome. Lots of shooting people, blowing stuff up, etc.

Red Steel is an adult game. Lots of violence and gore and tons of swearing in the game.

Nintendo used to shy away from adult content, and IMO this is one of teh reasons why they went down to SOny in the past. They have now realised that they have to provide adult content and you can expect a fair amount to come.

However, with Nintendo, you can expect lots of games like Zelda and Metroid. These games do embody a certain amount of violence but usually have relatively low ratings.....this however never stops the games from being really good!!!
 
You know..i kinda like that the games are "kiddy" . Isn't that more fun ? I mean mario , mario kart ect..is PURE fun.. I almost always fall asleep playing adult games like oblivion/need for speed/ect.. ( i do like gears though )
