Will Madonsela release 'state capture' report?

Her report will not be released. Zuma and co, will now keep political parties tangled up in court cases the next few years in the High Court, then the Appeals Court, then naturally to the Constitutional Court.

This will give Zuma and the Guptas the 3 years they need to prepare for the 2019 election and ensuring Zuma stays in power.

Huh,uhmmmm...ok...would like to add, with bright sparks like Van Rooyen in the mix...this above plan will definitely be on the cards

Probably, but I am sure they will pressure the new PP to complete her own report that will clear all allegations of State Capture. They will then use her report to replace that of TM. They will probably cite the reasons as TM starting her investigation just before leaving office and rushing into an incomplete report that did not take all evidence into account. They will then close the State Capture chapter with that report and get rid of TM's report.

Would not put in pass Number One and his ilk...he is corned and desperate!

The speaker?!? That POS Baleka Mbete?

Jesus, she might as well have set it alight herself rather than trust one of Zuma's closest allies with it ... :wtf:

hahaha it's a trap for Baleka

Guaranteed it's not the only copy - and when the court orders the release and Baleka doesn't, instant contempt of court charges

Well... We can always hope the new PP isn't a JZ placement and follows in the footsteps of TM?

I think she is. That's why Zuma's son and everyone wants TM to hand the report over to the new PP so that it can be squashed.

Hehe.

The prob is that once her own term ends the report belongs to the new PP. Were she to release anything after her terms ends she'll be in breach of many laws and will doubtlessly be prosecuted, and she knows that. The only hope is a leak, which will be investigated of course.

You are correct, that is the only reason why they so urgently needs to get TM off the investigation and her report squashed.

Pretty sure the court would be able to order the release of any copies held?
Or - her copies could be entered into evidence and thus become public?

Hope so.

The other side will object that it's not a final report and therefore incomplete (quoting Madonsela, no doubt), ie they'll claim it's missing "new evidence" that exonerates those implicated. Either that or the NPA will deem the process "fatally flawed" as per their previous outrageous move.

I hope you're right, of course. But I fear the corruption of our overlords is boundless. And they have the power, and our taxes.

Pretty sure I read that the final, signed report was with the Speaker?

Madonsela also says her successor will be dealing with the court interdict reading her state capture report next week but for now it remains, with the speaker of Parliament for safekeeping.

She says it is not a preliminary report, it is the final document into allegations of state capture and whether the Gupta family unduly influenced President Zuma.

but had to hand it to Mbete, the leopard is now looking after the chickens.

:D

While I acknowledge she has received major accolades locally and internationally, I cannot help but find that planning to release an incomplete investigation on her last day in office was reckless.
