Hi all.
Since day 1 of Windows 7 Basic, I had the following problem.
I use 2 accounts to provide me bandwidth.
Telkom as default and Afrihost as secondary.
I logon via Mega100WR2 4 port wireless router.
In the beginning of the month using my primary ISP, no problems. When that international cap is exhausted, I connect with Afrihost via PPoE connection from desktop. This setup are used on 5 pc's and 1 Netbook.
XP on all of them except the 1 Win7 pc.
I would then use local bandwidth and international as required. If I at any stage switch off, reboot or disconnect Afrihost on the Win7 pc, I would loose connection to internet on local. Most of the time the LAN will still work, but a red cross on the Internet connection, other times the Lan does not work at all. A repair does sometimes (about 10% of the time) work, most of the time not. Options I try would be to let Win7 sort it out, with about 50% success rate. Other options would be the ipconfig /range. Almost 0% success rate.
If I enable Afrihost, the internet connection is restored, but the local lan shows not connected.
If I then remove the Afrihost connection, 70% of the time local connection will be repaired if I setup PPoE connection again. I'm currently connected to Afrihost 17, indicating that have setup PPoE 17 times already? I don't t know what happens the rest of the time. Usually overnight the connection is repaired somehow.
None of this happens or influence the XP pc's.
Hope this make sense?
Anyone?
