Hi there!

I have Win7 now for quite a while. The problem is that only sometimes does windows fail to shut down. I have turned on advanced boot/shut down messages, and it hangs at the SHUTTING DOWN message with the wheel still spinning. What is preventing windows to shut down? Is there any log file I can use to trace the service preventing my PC from shutting down?

Thank you!

check your power option in control panel.Just toggle it to hi performance and the restart then do it to balanced again.

Check your device drivers for updates - I had a similar problem with a Kodak scanner driver. The work around I use is to disable the device fom a cmd line by using devcon disable.
