Installed without any problem, just took quite a while with lots of reboots.

Been using it since this morning and haven't come across anything new, makes you wonder whether it's worth it.

It does take looong time using the Update tool. Started the update on mistress's laptop at around 14h30. Now over four hours later still on 91%...

Weird, because the Acer notebook mediaplayer started at the same time took about an hour and half.

One I7 laptop updated within 2 hours and the other I5 took 8 hours after 2 unsuccessful tries.

Anyone able to update to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 1709?

I have 3 PC's, on all 3 PC's, the update is failing to install. No error code given.
I used the windows website to download the installer and then update. Once installed I had issues with some of my software so I reverted back. Will wait until it is stable before updating again.

I guess it already started auto-updating before you ran Update Tool. Now you have two separate updates in progress, they hold on each other. Last time it took 3 days before CPU utilisation dropped from 100% to 80% and next two days to complete update. :)

I used the update tool and it kept on crashing. I then uninstalled Trend Micro Security Agent and the install ran without problem, so if your update is failing, try removing AV, it may help.

Silly to think bugs like these exist and it's nothing new.

Absolutely no hassles with this update on any of the PCs I support ...

Delayed the update on two of them, got the update assistant to run the one and successfully use the new media creation tool for the rest.

Logging in to my home pc this morning and it greeted me with "getting things ready". I didn't do anything to initiate, I think some of you impatient people cause your own issues.

You can't set Ethernet as a metered connection, beside it will not always pause.
Not only do you need to update Windows. You need to update yourself.

You can for sure in Windows 10 Pro.

Settings > Ethernet > select the connection. "Set as metered connection" slider to On.

Fully agree. sajunky is so wrong with just about all his statements about Windows 10.

Only since Creators Update. Previously it wasn't available under settings.

Not so. This option has always been available. I deliberately set all my connections to a metered connection from the very start of windows 10.

Agreed Geoff.D

However I am in a bad habit of managing my updates through: services > Windows Update > Startup type: Disabled/Automatic
