For the past few weeks, I've experienced numerous restarts on my laptop. It wants to restart EVERY day due to windows updates. I have uninstalled the updates, but they return. What to do?

Restarting has no effect...the above messages remain unchanged.

Do you want to stop updates or have them get up to date?
If updates fail i use MS upgrade assistant.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.
Also try running the troubleshooter that's built into windows and choose windows update as the topic.

The only time that also didn't work was when the efi partition was 100% full so i had to resize it to 450mb+ from 100mb

Interesting, so it was just trying to install the same crap over and over and the DB was all messed up?

I've never seen that before.

I doubt, they never fixed it on the version 1607.

There are two versions of updating engines competing against each other and crashing. Windows Update on one side and 'Telemetry' with Bitcoin engine, plus embedded NSA spyware to which Microsoft has only a partial source code, so they are not really able to fix it.

  • spaces in front of the "/"?
  • not sure what path to use

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

Delete all these folders then reboot and search for updates.

why not start all over? backup and reinstall?
Think that will be quicker than finding a workable solution
