I think your graphics driver still needs to be updated. Mine it also not transparent but windows is still busy downloading the graphics driver. My touch screen is also not working so waiting on those drivers to update as well.

Got the driver installed bud but I had to go turn it on manually.

I don't think it's personally-identifiable info. It's system performance data that is used to build a better Windows.

I always put page-prediction off for the browser, mainly to save bandwidth. It's not an issue in places like the USA where most people don't really think about data usage. My daughter is married to a Bostonian living in Texas, and he doesn't really know why we Safricans fuss about data usage.

Anyone moved on from the 10240 build? Tried doing an upgrade this morning on work pc but it seems to want to do a clean install. I ll maybe just end upd doing a WIN7 install & then upgrading to 10, hoped it would be easier.
The product key seems to be an OEM key as it "brands"your pc if you sign in with a MS account, it shows up under devices in MS account with your PC name & Motherboard make.

So i'm searching my Home PC folders (running the insider previews since day one) and came accross a XML file in C:\$Windows.~WS\Sources\Panther called windlp.state

Opened with notepad and it shows the download link for the esd file as well as the product key that will be installed.

Has anyone else picked this up?

Also i have this: Seems to be a Neotel IP but i don't know what it's downloading.

I have it on my Work PC with insider build but not on my upgraded Home PC

So I managed to update my dad's ancient desktop PC (single core AMD with 2GB DDR400 RAM) from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 10 Home. This was an "activated" install so I am happy it worked. [-]Problem is their does not seem to be gfx drivers for the Radeon 1150 IGP :([/-] Legacy ATI 10.2 driver got the IGP working and Realtek HD Audio driver for Windows 10 fixed the sound. Running like a dream.

What annoys me is my mom's newish Packard Bell laptop with dual core Celeron asks for a product key!!! Granted I had to do a 1GB of windows updates before the Windows 10 icon appeared and I could reserve the upgrade. I tried the product key from ProduKey and it did not work either. Guess I'll have to let it simmer a few days before I try again. Unless someone has a solution?

so does this mean I can legally use my windows 8 key for a windows 8 in a virtual machine within the windows 10 ? :D

Here is what I have found so far playing with the upgrading.

1) PC with Insider build cant upgrade to Pro retail & keep settings, decided to do a clean install & see what it does, started with Windows 7 Pro & thought I would test the daz loader & see it it upgrades. Did the upgrade & it worked like a charm, will later do a clean install & see if it works again.

2) PC 2 had Windows 7 Home Premium on did the upgrade to 10 Home & decided to see what the product key is before doing a clean install Aida64 picked the key up, but i decided to make sure I get the same result & googled a bit & found this:
https://www.herdprotect.com/showkeyplus.exe-daa1d0c3c45be1652c149fbbe5824137aeb7ac82.aspx &
http://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/2577-showkey.html
ShowKeyPlus listed my original 7 Home key & the new 10 Home key, Aide & Showkeyplus, gave the same producktey. Did a clean install without enetering a product key, activated once done & checked the keys again. This time Showkeyplus only dislpayed the Win10 key.(made sense as hdd was wiped, but still same keys as with upgrade)

3) PC3 Also had Home Premium, I did the upgrade, & again checked the key with Showkeyplus but decided halfway trough the upgrade to enter the product key during the install & see if it activates. Entered the key on the last request (before windows logs in) & it accepted the key, Activated & it worked. I added more memory on the 3rd machine & it worked without activation.

I will be doing a test at work Monday & see if I change the mobo on a machine if it will ask for reactivation, just to see what happens.
Its still unclear how the licensing will work ie if you upgrade your machine & change the board you would have to purchase windows, & how the original product key ties in with your current key. It definitely needs to make a connection with your key & current hardware to be able to do a clean install without entering a key & then getting the same key. Cant think that the media could have the product key as I used the same Pro to install 4 machines already & the Home version on 2 machines.

I am saving my current Windows 10 Keys just for in case.

Before clean ninstall, you yould check if daz is still loaded in memory. It installs boot manager in MBR which can be activated by holding 'R' during boot. It gives you an option to boot without SLIC. The whole truth would be seen after booting. It is important to know whether activation is still in place without valid SLIC. But remember that even MS is not doing this check, they can add it later.
Alternatively you yould be able to restore MBR by booting from installation media.

But wouldn't DAZ be removed with a clean install? DAZ is only in play when upgrading, spoofing Windows to think its legit. Once the upgrade runs the machine is marked as legal. Or am I wrong? Its still early days, but so far using a loader seems to work.

These are questions I wanted to get answer:
1. Is DAZ removed during upgrade?
2. What happens when upgraded and activated Windows can't see SLIC 2.1 in the BIOS anymore.

During clean install it is very likely that DAZ will be removed.

+1 Thats what I want to know as well, does DAZ have access to the bios? Remeber DAZ does not work on Windows 8 & thats is why KMS came into play. I should actually try upgrading a michine activated with KMS & see what happens, I know someone with a Windows 7 Ultimate that cant upgrade but I suspect that is due to being a poorly cracked version(not with DAZ). Just as a side note I have used DAZ with legal keys, due to MS having issues activating sometimes. If I remember correctly DAZ is in the boot record, so a clean install will remove it. Thinking about it now I doubt any loader or activator would or actually should have access to the bios, only notebooks would have the key embedded or on desktops OEM boards, I might be wrong but thats how I understand it works.
PS the newer loaders ie KMS actually runs in windows as it creates a service/task that reactivates the OS. I would think that MS could block that, but not DAZ as it injects the info before you login to windows.

To be honest, I am not interested in activating computers which don't have legal Windows licence in the BIOS. I want to extend life of computers with legal Windows, but older one like XP or Vista to which Microsoft decided to not give upgrade option.

But doing that you would have to make the windows "illegal" to do the upgrade, XP & Vista can't "inherit" 10. There is no way getting that done "legit". In any case if a computer still has XP or Vista on then it must be really old unless the hardware was upgraded recently. Legally, no you cant do it as it doesn't fall in the upgrade path, you could purchase windows 7 or 8 from 3rd party resellers like G2A etc for a fraction of the price, then you can upgrade.
XP support was stopped last year April & Vista, well no one really cares about Vista anymore, so no even if you have a license for both the upgrade does not apply. Legally you cant.
