Unsupported PCs With Windows 11 Are Receiving Updates For Now - How-To-Geek

Windows 11 is here, and lots of people are looking to run it on their unsupported PCs.

Microsoft said that it wouldn’t provide updates to Windows 11 users on unsupported computers, but it turns out the company has released its most recent patches, though that may not happen in the future.

Microsoft said that unsupported PCs wouldn’t be entitled to updates, but it didn’t specifically say that they wouldn’t be able to download them despite a lack of entitlement.

Microsoft had its first Patch Tuesday since the Windows 11 launch, and while the update may have made the issues with AMD processors worse, people with unsupported PCs could download and install them on their PCs.

Microsoft potentially creating an exploit nightmare for themselves should they decide to not provide updates to machines that dont meet their minimum hardware requirements.
Imagine 10's of thousands of perfectly capable machines now missing out on essential security patches because microsoft dont think you're worthy.
Gonna get messy!

10 is still run on more devices, isn't EOL until at least 2025, and will still receive consistent updates, so everyone with an incompatible device doesn't have to worry for the next four years at least, at the end of which they will probably be on their next upgrade cycle anyway.

Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22478 is now available via the Dev Channel - Geeky Gadgets

Microsoft has today announced the availability of the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22478 allowing those interested to see the new additions to the latest generation Windows 11 operating system which launched earlier this month.

Microsoft is still battling with issues when running Windows 11 on AMD systems and released a new update to try and fix the patch this week but has unfortunately made the issue even worse.

So if your running a computer powered by AMD hardware it might be worth holding off for a little before upgrading from Windows 10.

Disabled TPM for now. Don't want Microsoft to sneakily update my machine to 11 like it did for a lot of users with 10. 15% performance drop for AMD is NOT great.

Well ****. Now with TPM disabled, it's STILL compatible. Guess there's some reg key that got updated?
